what they don't teach you in school

Posted by Casey Deis on 1999-09-07

I took a C++ class and I learned a lot, but there was a lot left
lacking, and a lot of questions unanswered. If some people could
answer these questions or tell me where to find the answers, I'd
appreciate it.

1. How do you do color and graphics in C++?

2. What's windows API?

3. How do you write programs that interact with computer hardware such
as printing?

4. How do you do sound in C++?

5. How do you write programs that interact with other programs? i.e.
say a game program that plays a wav file.

I guess that's enough to satisfy my curiousity for now.
Just a little more background information, so you guys know how
ignorant I am and how much detailed information I need: I am not
familiar with Visual C++. The extent of my knowledge is about 6
chapters from the textbook: C++: How to Program by Deitel & Deitel. I
guess that's just the basic basics. <g>

Thanks again
Shrapnel
