Hi, Anybody knows how to read a hardware (especially harddisks) manufacturer's ID and the serial number (not the one in volume labels, but the manufacturer's serial number for the particular hardware)? Example : with the new BIOSes you can set to autodetect harddisk everytime at boot time, so that when you boot the computer, it will display your harddisk types, i.e. it displays ST3250A-XR for my 210 MB Seagate harddisk. I'm told that certain diagnostic program can actually displays the manufacturer's serial number for certain hardwares (I haven't tried it for myself). How can this be done? PS: the OS that I'm working on is MSDOS and Win9x, the language is either C or Asm. DarkForce darkforce@xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx
