DirectX Libs

I tried to find a patch for my compiler and I'm pretty sure that I have 
compiled my projects right.  So I think that my libs are the incorrect 
version.  So I tried to make my own with implib, but now I'm getting an error 
when I compile that says something like unreferenced external 
_IID_DirectDraw4 in module demo1.cpp.  And I don't know why.  Anybody have 
any clues?
