Java Bug or Error ??

Hi Guys

Have the following problem and wondered if anyone could help me out asto
whether this is a bug in the browser, JVM or finaly my coding..

Heres my situation.

I have a java applet conforming to JDK 1.02 with a Textarea control
receiving various messages. This works fine under IE until i tested it on
Netscape 4.05 where it seems to not paint the  text however upon closer
inspection (blocking the invisible text) i can see the text is there, just
not in the correct colour (ie same as background). The text can be made
visible by giving up focus to another window and then returning.

Any ideas?
