I need this done in one of the following languages: o C o Perl Mainly for the UNIX/Linux platform. Portability is not required, but would be helpful if needed under the Win32, DOS envirorments. The purpose is for non-profit, personal use. The need for this is required when one logs on to my UNIX machine; You have %s day(s) left before your account expires. Replacing the %s to the amount of true days left. In other words, say I have purchased 365 days membership at my ISP and I would like to be reminded how many days I have without connecting to them, or I want any others on my machine to know how many days I have left I can execute the program/script, or they can too. I used to know the strings in C, but I would say that it would be more complicated in C then it would be for Perl though. I've been playing around with perl lately, but not very good at it and likewise for C. There are other languages that I use, but I don't even know how to start, let along code the processes, functions and what ever else to do want I want. Something may be along the lines of having a .cfg file that I can enter in a # in TEXT and the program if in C or Perl can read and rewrite to the single line while automatically deducting days off. Contact me for more details if need for it. Thanks in advance for any help any one can provide!
