It's been a while since my last update and I'm just writing to tell that Netalive NG is coming along nicely.
I think the new site is by far the best thing I've ever done. For the first time in my life I feel that I'm doing what's right rather than trying to prove to myself that I'm capable of some technical feat.
Programming, and web programming in particular, isn't exactly rocket science. You could teach a monkey to hack together a message board in a day. Much harder is to come up with a good conceptual design which is why I'm often spending more time with my sketchbook rather than doing some actual programming.
Right now I don't feel much like posting screenshots as there's still a long road ahead and I don't want to spoil the surprise. There might be a closed beta for a small circle of people in a couple of weeks, but don't quote me.
Today I found a rabbit sun bathing on my balcony. Imagine my surprise since I'm living on the 8th floor.
Anyway, it looks like the 8th story of our dormitory now has a new pet. I must remember to buy something to eat for him (her?) tomorrow. Anyone knows what kind of food rabbits are into?
Dang, I really had hoped for a cat to misteriously make it into my life, but I might be able to settle for the rabbit.

Due to unfortunate terms for applications I have until tomorrow to decide which courses I want to take for the upcoming semester. Which wouldn't be so bad if there was enough information available about the respective lectures and workshops.
At this time of the summer, all you get mostly are strange sounding course titles. I tried to filter out those that have the potential to not be complete teaching desasters. Please let me know if you have any idea what they could be about.
Informatics III, Logic
Compulsory courses, no choice there.
Games Programming
Someone said this course was a lot of work. I don't care. I'm so going to take it. I've been going to university for this very course.
Technics Sociology: Software development as job and organization design
I have no idea.
Personal Publishing Systems and Weblogs in the Context of Learning, Teaching and Knowledge Mangement
From the course description it looks like I have to play around with Blogger, Movable Type and the likes and pretend it was a lot of work. ECTS fodder or undervaluation?
Effects of Media and Protection of Minors: Violence on the Screen
I'm not sure if they would allow a former hardcore Counter-Strike gamer to enter this lecture.
Public Relations on the Internet
"How to add your site to Google". Not sure if I could face myself in the mirror if I took that course.
The Human Being as a Node of the Net
What the hell.

Did you ever have to turn 25,000 lines of deformed spaghetti hack into beautiful, clean and safe code? I guess some of you have been there.
I spent the last few days doing that and nothing else. I don't particularely like the project and my appetite for coding has all but died in me. If I wasn't so far behind on the release schedule, I would just throw it all in the corner and leave it there for a decade.
I'm so fed up with it.
