Considering my record on keeping (or rather not keeping) my new year resolutions, I was thinking on not to have any of them this year.
But, then I decided to give myself another chance (I have been giving myself such chances for the last 28 years).
I would try to definitely achieve them this year.
So, here is the list...
My new year resolutions
Plan out the future! - I have a habit of taking things for granted, or acting as and when the situations arise. I have never planned things for me. Luckily for me, life has always presented to me some choices because of which things have been pretty easy all my life, even during my worse downs.
After maturing a little from last year, I would like to take the opportunity to plan out things for the next 5-years, and would like to work towards achieving them.
Spend more time with my family - Would like to take some time-off from work, and go some place vacationing for at least 7-10 days, possibly Europe!
Complete at least 1 NAO related project - Will try to reply to the Chat / Messenger / Pager project discussion which we had and would like to see it done before the end of next year :-)
Try exploring some more career possibilities - Change my industry from Computers to something else, figure out what else I might be good at.
Make my website using PHP and mySQL. - This is pending for a lot of time now, so I definitely plan to do this new year.
Spread more joy, happiness, hope, and smiles.
Now, lets see how many of these can I keep!
This is a snapshot of my activity on NAO in the past year.
Total Days on NAO: 240 (and still counting)
Total Days on NAO on which I did not post anything: 108 (45%)
Total Posts this year: 447 (on an average of 1.866 per day)
Number of posts in the first month on NAO: 155 (34.60%)
Heighest number of posts in a day: 14 (On May 24th, 2002)
Made these many people smile, laugh and cry due to my posts: *countless*
This was a great year! Hoping for much better time in 2003! Happy new year folks! Have a lot of fun.

Suddenly, she learnt to crawl! Oh wow! It was an amazing sight!
My 8 months old daughter has learnt to crawl just 3-4 days ago, and now she is all over the place. It is fun watching her every single minute. You can make her sit in one corner of the room, and within seconds she will be at the other corner trying to get hold of everything she can.
I think she is going to grow up a geek, because no matter how much I try keeping some toys near her, she always tries to get hold of the computer, the laptop, the wires, camera and such. It is usually us parents who end up playing with the toys just trying to get her attention. :)
Soon she will begin teething, and then things are going to be more fun...until then...we are enjoying every moment of her current antics!
(she has learnt to wave her hand whenever I leave for the office and has also learnt to say mama, baba, dada, gaga, and everything under the sun, except for papa, still waiting for that day when she can scream out papa :))
Just recently we took her first studio photos, you can find them here. Some more photos can be found here.
While I was still recovering from severe Bronchitis, all hell broke loose! My Austin trip was a disaster! I fell sick and my wife had to drive all the way back, while I was throwing up all the time, almost half-unconsious.
What sucks is that I was under the impression that I am cured and my illness will not return. Ever since I can remember (when I was 5 years old), I get sick every 3 months. It starts by I getting dizzy the night before, and by morning, I start vomiting, every 10 minutes or so, which continues for about 24 hours. After the first day, my vomiting stops but I am so weak, that I can not get up from the bed for at least 4 more days. Only on the 5th day I can come back to normal.
This had been a constant routine till last year January, and suddenly everything became fine - only to return this black sunday! Luckily, I can get up from the bed today (it is only the third day today) - still feeling a lot dizzy though!
I have shown myself to numerous doctors but no one has been able to diagnose anything so far. Only one doctor came as close to identifying the problem, and said that it might be Acute Labrynthitis - an infection of the liquid that is found in the middle ear. But, again, he could not say why it happens every 3 months, and why it stopped for the last 2 years!
God only knows why I keep having it and when will I get rid of it. For now I am glad that I am on my feet earlier then I used to be always.
I will be making another trip to Austin this weekend. Driving to Austin from Houston is really a fun-filled 2.5 hours drive. And, thanks to the heavens, the weather this weekend is going to be really wonderful (unlike the last few days when it has been raining cats and dogs).
I am excited to show my mom our old home in Austin, my previous office where I used to work, and Austin is a better city to visit / live then Houston any time, so hopefully my mom will like it.
It will be my 6th trip to Austin since May this year. And, my wife and daughter's 2nd trip.
Have a nice weekend folks! See you on Monday!
Today is the big move! Every person from our old office is being kicked out to a new office. So, today all day will be spent in packing. The movers will come tomorrow in our absence. And, on Monday I have to go to the new office!
The sad thing is that the current office was just 10 minutes drive from my home, and now I have to get up at least 40 minutes early, as the new office is at least 45-50 minutes far off from my home! sigh!
