Shiny tools
I'm somewhat taken aback by an unexpected piece of flamebait from David Heinemeier Hansson. And I always thought what distinguishes a caring craftsman was the love for his trade, not the whiteness of his tools. Silly me.

I dunno. Would you have any understanding for a programmer who used Notepad for all of his text editing? (I wouldn‘t.) David‘s argument is just a logical progression.
To be frank it's drawing analogies like these which I don't understand. Maybe I too have personal opinions on someone else's choices but keep them to myself rather than heralding them as a perceived messenger of absolute truth. My Blah is better than your Blah arguments lose some of their bite after your fourteenth birthday or so.
