If you haven't seen Xmen 2 yet and do not want to know anything about it then do not read this.
NOt only was Xmen 2 was an incredible movie, but it was left WIDE open for Xmen 3. Jean Grey turns into pheonix at the end after saving the Xmen, just like the comic book. Of course they were in space in the comic, but close enough for the movie. The very last scene is the camera flying over water and underneatht the surface you can see the flying pheonix. Also pyro takes off with magneto an mystique so they can add some more villians for next time. My prediction for Xmen three - Phoenix and Cyclops get married, plus a lot of other stuff that i could not imagine. I just thought it was cool how jean turned into pheonix in a matter that left it wide open for another movie.
I also recall from the comic book that Wolverine falls in love with Lady Deathstrike? Does anyone else remember this or am i crazy?

I think Wolverine fell in love with Mariko Yashida, a normal human. Deathstrike and Wolverine have always been enemies.
There are so many mutants left they could fill a hundred movies with them. As far as I'm concerned, I would love to see Angel, Jean as Phoenix and some more action involving Colossus.

Didn't Wolverine kill Lady Deathstrike in X2?
Colossus should have had a bigger role; he was in there for about 1 minute. And they really need to introduce Gambit: he was the best of them all

Remember the movie is just a very good adaption of the comics, the plot does not always follow the comics in every detail. Also as someone else pointed out: Jean Grey's "death" in the water never happened in the comics. I think the accident happened in a starship (?) there.
From what I read, Lady Deathstrike didn't die in the comics.

Jean Grey's Death in the comics does take place in space, trying to save the xmen from crashing in a space ship. They crash anyways, but survive thanks to jean who then turns into pheonix.
Whatever happened to archangel and beast. Two of the original xmen that were never mentioned in the movies. Anyways there are tons of mutants left and many xmen movies to be made.
The producers left it wide open for Iceman, Colossus, and Rogue to step up. And with Pyro's defection, they set up a new villain. I would love to see Gambit in the 3rd move... he was one of my favorites: I mean, who can dislike exploding cards ;)
I've heard that the Phoenix is going to be evil at the beginning of the next one, but then Phoenix/Jean Grey turns back to good... can someone fill me in here with stuff from the comics.

here you go - part of jean grey's life from pheonix on......
After Jean saved the Xmen from a Space Shuttle Crash she turns into Pheonix. Pheonix was so powerful that Jean had to put "psionic dampeners" into her own mind so that she could control her powers - Xavier taught her how to do this. Mastermind turned Jean Grey against the Xmen, but eventually Cyclops saved her and the Xmen beat mastermind. This whole encounter destroyed the Dampeners jean had in place and Dark Phoenix emerged. Dark phoenix battles and destroys the Xmen and then travels to space to kill stuff. Eventually with the help of Xavier she turns back to the good Jean Grey. From this point on a whole bunch of crazy stuff happens - jean dies romeo and juliet style with cyclops, scott marries a clone of jean, etc........... lots of really crazy stuff, the story is not even close to being over.

Archangel was origionally in the script for X2 and so were some type of robots. Going by that I think that Angel will be in X3. If you watch the special features in X2, go to the photo gallery. At the end there should be a picture of Angel. It is a sketch of what he would look like. There also should be a sketch of the robots. I think the war will be starting. Mutant against mutant.
Someone told me, that on one of the computer screens in X2 you can see Gambit's name and some info on him. But it happens really fast. If this is true than Gambit should be in the next X3. I don't know how they could adapt Gambit into the next story. I just hope they do. Don't forget that there are comics of Gambit and Jubilee together.
I wouldn't be surprised if Angel had something to do with the return of Phoenix. Or he might have something to do with Nightcrawler, considering how much praying he does. Most likely X3 will be more about the return of Phoenix and how the younger xmen help and master there powers to fight against Magneto and his army(including Pyro). The main new characters that will definitely be getting alot of action are: Iceman, Pyro, Colossus, Jubilee, and maybe Banshee's daughter. Remember her? She was the little girl who wouldn't stop screaming when the guys broke in.
Xmen movies will remain popular and they will probally make as many Xmen movies as James Bonds or Batmans. There should be much more to come. Be on the look out for Angel, Gambit,Beast, Emma Frost, Black Widow, Polaris,Silver Surfer, Marrow, Magik, Havok, and much more.
Yes, there was a reference to Gambit. His real name shows up right before Magneto's real name when Mystique is looking up his location on that government computer.
There was also a reference to Dr. McCoy, aka Beast. He's being interviewed on the television behind Magneto's fat guard buddy when he's at the bar. Obviously Dr. McCoy hadn't transformed into Beast yet. Hopefully he'll show up in X3.

Yeah, Gambit really needs to be in X3 or I'll be pretty disappointed. He's a phenomenal character. He needs to be there. I think it would add a lot of "spice." I just wonder who they'll cast to play the firey Cajun.
I agree, the entire Bobby-Rogue thing is a bunch of garbage seriously. I'm also waiting to Colossus get into the action. I was really waiting on him to show out in X-2. I was surprised they didn't bring Beast into the story. Of course, there was the little shot of Hank McCoy on the TV... but I'm ready to see him.
X2 is probably one of my favorite movies of all time. My favorite line in the movie happened in the scene between Mystique and NightCrawler. He was asking her about if you had the ability to look and sound.. or in essence be anyone else.. why not stay that way all the time. Her reply was, "Because we shouldn't have to."
I absolutely love that.
Actually after X3.. I'm ready for them to kill the entire big screen movie... and move more into a mini-series.
I just wanna say that X2 completely kicked ass. The producers did an outstanding job of bringing Nightcrawler to life. I cannot wait to see Jean Grey become the Phoenix! I would very much like to see several other mutants such as Gambit, Beast, or Angel. Even more, I'm curious to see which villain comes to life.

I'd love to see Gambit cause he used to be the best to me, but wolverine kicks ass. I liked the blowing up of cards/objects that gambit did, but I did enjoy his hand held bow (stick)... imagine him fighting with it... just like darth maul from star wars 1. The art of stick fighting rocks.
But anyhow, I wanted to know if you guys watched X2 and noticed that they do mention Hank McCoy and Remy LeBeau. Hank otherwise known as beast was mentioned from a television playing the news in the back ground. As for the infamous Remy LeBeau, known as Gambit (who was the rightfully one to date Rogue lolz) had his name on William Striker's computer database as Mystique searches for Magneto, you could see Remy's file next to Magneto. Alot of other profiles were on Strikers computer, but you'll have to notice these things in the movie otherwise you'll pass it up. Be sure to notice anything small any any movie. if you didn't know about remy and hank, then email me at cmnoa@aol.com to tell me that my post was a lil bit informative or entertaining. i do enjoy feed back. thanks...

i found out recently that the mutants most likely to appear on x3 will be THE WHITE QUEEN, GAMBIT, ARCHANGEL, JUGGERNAUT and APOCALYPSE, i don't know about beast yet because many have said that beast will cost lots of money to make but others like Sabretooth will return to x3 and some think that lady deathstrike is dead after wolverine put the liquid in her, but if you guys did not all ready know Kelly hu signed a contract for 2 x-men movies so she will be back as lady deathstrike others like Storm played by halle barry might not make it back since halle feels that storm is not that of a big character but nothing has been finalize in that but they have said that people are going to make a STORM movie just for her
on the side not i'm for one am exited that my favorite The white queen might be in the x3 movie
WHITE QUEEN, GAMBIT, ARCHANGEL, JUGGERNAUT and APOCALYPSE
you have proof for this? all movie database sites keep up to date with info and some aren't mentioned. you talk alot of bs, like beast costing too much lmao... it wouldn't be more than sabretooth... besides, since bringing new actors in for the movie is cheaper than highering stars, they can spend that extra money on your so called expensive beast.
if you guys did your homework, you'd know lady death strike is alive... too bad foxyroxy doesn't know too much... apparently, striker only had a clone of death strike, so that explains why she is still alive. i don't know if the movie will use this solution of death strikes story, but that's the best way to go about it.
and foxy roxy mentioned that halle doesn't think storms' character is important... that's half correct, halle would love to play the part, but the producers and director don't think storm is catching viewers as much as others are. so cutting her out would make many happy, and save money for other better stuff, like a sentinel... lolz jk
the only valid thing foxyroxy mentioned was the fact that they might make an individual movie for storm, but not just storm, but for the entire xmen crew. for example, it'd be like batman, superman, and spiderman movies. most likely the movie would explain their life and of course some action thrown in.
well until next time, on the same bat channel, same bat time, same bat... ah forget it... bye
OK from what i know of the comics here goes, Jean Grey situation is as stated above with the spaceship etc. As for Lady Deathstrike, i was under the impression that Wolverine falls in love with her, but as she's Yuriko Oyama, the name from the movie. Her father works for the corporation that developed the adamantium endo-skeleton, wolverine i believe does volunteer for the process, but it wipes his memory and when he breaks out of the torture they put him through running tests and all, he ends up killing Yuriko's father, thus she vows revenge and undergoes the process herself. She doesn't lose her memory for some reason tho... i'm not totally sure about that part, but i believe that is how it's written in the comics, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. Yes, X2 was an amazing movie, Jean Grey/phoenix was always my fav and her story was my fav as well. It was the fullfillment of my boyhood dream to see jean go phoenix on the big screen and i eagerly anticipate the next movie. :)

You'll probably all think I'm stupid but it didn't occur to me that the shadow under the water was Phoenix. I only know these stories from the TV cartoon series I use to watch as a kid, I couldn't afford to buy the comics. I just assumed the shadow was of the ship they use, and the picture was supposed to be taken from the ship.
D'oh!
X2 was a class movie, Colossus should have got a bigger take. I just hope they don't bring Jubilee into the picture, man she was annoying.
Gambit would rule, as would the beast, but I think Archangel would be the best to bring into the next film, or the Juggernaut would be interesting.
Omega Red, an arch-enemy of wolverine's would be an interestin story, but perhaps too much the same as W vs LDS in X2?
The guy who played nightcrawler played an excellent part, anyone know his name?

I have a very reliable source who I can't mention. This individual told me that it was infact Pheonix that was under the water at the end of X2. Also Colussus will have a bigger cut in X3. So far there aren't any actors to plar the roles of Gambit nor Beast. Beast won't be more than Sabretooth and he doesn't have to look like the comic book version. As those who remembered that beast was white in the news in X2 and not blue.
It is true that Lady Death Strike might not be dead even if it looks that way.
I get my information from a source so you can believe me or not. Your choice. I'm Afrikaans so excuse my spelling or grammar.

Well buddy, your source is quite late for the info you have mentioned are already old news. We (i'm assuming most of us) already knew that was Pheonix under the water. We can only guess that Colussus will have a bigger part in the next movie for the reason that when the characters in X2 were breifly shot in X1. It's all common sense. But thanks for the top secret info.

Well, if any of u is doubting about Jean turning into phoenix... Just look in the credits, right at the end, in the special effects crew, theres credits for the people who made PHEONIX EFFECTS! Yeah.. well.. its true.. I looked..im a sicko!:P
As for new characters.. I read that Beast is the most likely to appear, Gambit is in discussing (some people really want him and some thing hes too Cyclopsish powerwise and too wolverineish personality wise, so...) and about the rest I have no idea!:) The big rumour before x2 was that x3 would be based on days of future past (anyone who doesnt know.. a x-men saga where Kitty Pride and Rachel Summers are the stars, it deals with the future and the Sentinels, wich were rumored to appear in a future movie, now, with Jeans death, who knows.)
I didnt add up a lot of info, but well.. im obsessed with the comic, so, if anyone wants to ask something.. :)
