Reading Books

I picked up some books at my library the other day I thought were quite amazing. The Death Gate Cycle (7 book series), written by Margret Weiss and Tracy Hickman.

In this book, everything is based on 'wave prime' The wave, which is everything, will react to 'bulges' in it, like the amassing of evil will bring many good crusaders, to return to equilibrium. All magics work as a counterbalance. The Elves magic focusses on spiritual, while the humans focus on physical

Also, there are 2 other races: demi-gods called sartans and patryns. The sartans work with ideas, from within to without, with their magic, and the patryns work with existance, working from without to within. All use the rune structer of magic.

The books are intruiging and DEEPLY indepth, and are very much worth checking out if you come across them.

Did you read all seven books? All fantasy authors seem to write 50-volume cycles these days and I have had some bad experiences where I forced myself through 15 books to end up with a half-assed ending :(

I suppose in a lot of cases a book series will drag on simply because the author doesn't know how to end it. Or maybe doesn't want to end it (even if it should).

Ohh, the 7th book ends quite finitely.

The story is long enough that the books all pull from eachother, but don't wear themselves out.

Ive read all seven of the death gate cycle books, and to me they are very good. Im not much for reading anything, but when i read these books i vowed to read all seven and i did so in about 1 1/2 to 2 months. Im also going to read them again. Theyre great!!!
