Actually it's true. The Beatles have a long history of issued lawsuits, and are pretty quick to sue you for copyright law infringement and the such. Ask Frank Zappa. :-P
The Apple story actually began shortly after Apple Computers was founded. The Beatles filed a lawsuit against the two Steves (founders), claiming that the name was illegal use of their record company's name, Apple Records. Apple Records and Apple Computers then signed an agreement allowing Apple Computers to keep their name, including a considerable amount of money and thepromise to never use the brand Apple for anything else than computers. The guys at Apple Computers also have a considerable record of breaking this agreement, being sued by the Beatles and then either pay a fine or come to another agreement. :-P I guess it's just the way things are.
