I'm actually thinking about giving higher ranking users the possibility to post under "Eliza" then and when, but I'm not yet sure if I really want that.

I hate programming for the open Internet - there's so much fun stuff to do, but every single idea must be checked 20 times from all sides to find out whether and how much it can be abused :(

I guess he/she did that because of the language you employed. Whatever their reasons, don't get angry because a stupid negative vote. You're rank fourteen and neither one or 10 negative votes will change anything about this level, which is practically irrelevant from rank 7 on anyway. If we (the higher ranking people) start abusing and messing around with the rating system because we don't like the ratings of our posts, this system is no longer there when we need it.

I want to rewrite Eliza as soon as I find time - the current code doesn't really allow me to give her much more AI. I cut most of her psychoanalyst blabla alreaddy and turned her into a more childish person, but she still doesn't know a lot about herself. Also the original Eliza was able to remember certain facts about its chat partner, NAO's Eliza can't do that (yet). Will be fixed with the rewrite too.

Its a shame! Whenever Jaz is gonna start a regular job that takes pretty much all of his attention, what will becomme of such wonderful ideas?? Who will code it then, who's there to enjoy the stuff coming from such a creative brain?

Relax - I'm already in a job that keeps me busy 10 hours a day for most of the time. I can't yet say how time-eating university and whatever I do after that is going to be, but I think I will always need some sort of private pet project, because frankly I know I go mad without one. I just had a flash back to the BBS Door "Chat with Lisa". Depending on the settings she could get very sexual. Made for some good fun watching my brother think he was scoring online with a "Real" chick. That never gets old :)

Anyone else remember "Chat With Lisa" ?
