Well, the original discussion thread about a third official NAO meeting appears to have dried up, so I'm herewith trying to revive it. :-)

Not yet trying to make a detailed plan, just collecting ideas, here are my 0.02:

Location(s)

Jaz, the creative mind behind NAO, and a bunch of other NAOees are to be found around Munich/Augsburg/Dachau (southern Germany), so maybe we can meet around there. For those who haven't been to Munich yet, it's a great town and definitely worth a visit!
Provided there won't be too many people to accommodate, I'd like to offer my humble apartment (eastern Switzerland) and whatever space (Martin the friendly neighbour's apartment or Orchid's parents' house ;-) ) I might be able to capture. MrCrash could probably also sleep at another neighbor's. :-P
Your suggestion?
For everybody who can't make it, we could try to set up a webcam or something. Maybe this time we'll get it working before the meeting is over :-D

Date / Duration

The last two meetings started at a Friday evening and ended around Sunday afternoon, which would look pretty okay to me. From previous experience I'd say we shouldn't pick a date before January. What would you suggest??

Things to do

Of course this depends on the location. Sightseeing or some card game (or the official NAO Meeting game, Tabu :-) ) are always appropriate. Maybe we can have a small key-signing party.

Alternative Meetings

For those not living in central Europe, maybe you can meet someplace else and we can have multiple simultaneous, webcam-linked meetings all over the world?

Misc Stuff

Who would like to attend the meeting?
As proposed by oxygenius/ginsterbusch, we could probably build a Poor NAOees' Travel Fund, where people donate small(!) amounts of money to support less well-heeled people with greater travel expenses. Only if needed of course.

If we meet sometime around January, we might even be able to celebrate the original NAO's 5 1/2th birthday. If we wait a little longer, there's a chance we can have a real American with us!

Well, you could always browse the pictures of the last meeting until we have a working web cam. And of course we will only reveal the NAOcam™ URL/password to people who provide us with photographic material of themselves!
