Once upon a time, there came up this problem of keeping all your bookmarks and favorites on different computers together ... and then, the problem went skyscraping, as other people got involved, and also wanted to share some interesting URLs.
so one of the first things I suggested in the company i'm currently working for/getting practical experiences, was to get some kind of web-based bookmark applikation installed on their webserver and then put all the interesting stuff into one bookmark folder which is only accesible to this selected group.
what came out is, that we finally installed SiteBar 3.0.1 on our server, which is PHP/MySQL-based, and fucking great, btw! ;)
Of course, there are other options, but either they need lotsa additional tools and extensions, or they're too unsecure/simple for our purposes.
I'm currently trying to add some hacks to it, so SiteBar might truly be the 100% alternative to commercial solutions as they claim on the SiteBar-Homepage at SourceForge. More of this soon ... ;)
