Okay, so maybe it's a bit mean...
Probably. Still, a rather good laugh.
I always wondered, Hawking appears several times on the Simpsons , Futurama, Family Guy, and those appearances are rather mean, too.
Did he - like other guest stars - lend his void to the character, too?
'Repent, Harlequin!' said the Ticktockman. 'Get stuffed!' the Harlequin replied, sneering.
I wonder if he sees this the same way?!
Would he be the man he is today without his disabilities?
Could it be that his disease triggered the genius inside of him to strive day and night to leave his mark in this world so everyone remembers?
Wouldn't the same disease bring most of us to our knees praying for release from this live if it happened to us?
Please don't misunderstand, I have deepest respect for Mr. Hawkings but did you every think about it?
He suffers from a so-called "Motor Neurone Disease".
Basically he has only very little control over his muscles. He needs a voice-synthesizer to speak.
Normally this disease shortens the life-expectancy considerably. It seems to be kind of a miracle he's still alive.
'Repent, Harlequin!' said the Ticktockman. 'Get stuffed!' the Harlequin replied, sneering.
The common name for his disease is "Lou Gehrig's disease" which is used or the initials of the medical term.....ALS
ALS stands for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Like many medical terms it comes from Greek words.
A—without
Myo—muscle
Trophic—nourishment
Lateral—side (of the spinal cord)
Sclerosis—hardening or scarring
