Life really isn't fair. It probably would be easier to be a minority handicapped lesbian. But my issue is how my life is more difficult because i chose not to have children when i was a teenager. Seriously. I couldn't afford college and i haven't had medical coverage in years. I struggle to pay the rent every month and sometimes don't eat protein for weeks because it's more expensive than things like potatoes. I work full time and i make just enough to make ends meet. Unless my husband achieves some level of financial success, it looks like i'll be a lifetime waitress, because i can't take the time off to go to school or pay for it. Now, if i had a baby or two before i got married, life would be so much sweeter. I could live in a free apartment and eat free steaks while i went to school for free, so that when the welfare system kicked me out, i would be educated and have no student loans to pay. I would also have full medical coverage, of course. What a great free ride. It pisses me off. What about the women who choose to wait until they are emotionally ready for children and they are married? Well, you better have a family with money or a rich husband, i guess. Or you better be willing to go thousands of dollars into debt and try to go to school and study while you work full time and use your rent money to pay for your books or something, i don't know...

We have enough to get by, but no extra to pay for things like school books, christmas presents, etc. We pay rent, utilities, modest car payment. We don't do drugs, we don't go out drinking. If i don't make good tips, i eat potatoes for dinner. I have to put a certain amout aside each week so we can pay the bills, it's that simple.

Yes, it is good that it is there for single mothers who need it. children shouldn't suffer because mom is broke. what i dislike, is that people like me who decided to wait until they are mature to have children are the ones who suffer. because i chose to be responsible and i'm not a single mother, my life is more difficult, which seems like a punishment, while the teenagers who get knocked up are almost rewarded, by receiving free housing, food and education. THAT is screwed up. THEN, i see the president on tv talking about how he wants prisoners to receive temporary housing when they get out and job training. NOW, i'm really pissed. because i choose not to commit crimes, i guess there's no free job training and temp. housing for me if things are tough. WTF??!
