Reading Macintosh

I've already been to mailhilfe.de and asked my father but it seems as if his advice doesn't function on mac.

I don't have an own machine at the office so I rotate on two or three machines whenever someone's away. That's the reason why I have to care about the garbage in Outlook. I always have to delete emails twice which is really annoying: Once in the file, once in the garbage. My dad told me he could delete an email just once if he presses Shift + Delete. This doesn't work on mac though. Anyone got an idea?
