I used to talk to this girl Hailey, online. She was respected by everybody that I know because she was smart, she had advice to give, and she had experience.

Hailey was unique in a good way. She was cool as hell. I miss her. She was someone you could talk to about anything. She always had an answer. I miss her.

We weren't the best of friends but still she was a remarkable person. I just dont know what I can say about her.

What happened to Hailey? Just disappeared like so many I did know in the past, without leaving any trace you'd be able to contact the person?

She died mysteriously over the summer. No one knows how she died and it's just really weird. After she died things just changed and they haven't been the same since.

Well - it seems to be always that way when somebody suddenly disappears (may it be by death or because of some other reason, like being very ill, just to be left alone, etc.). Let's take a (good) friend of mine called Ikkuna (of course, thats her nick name) - she suddendly disappeared after she broke up with her boyfriend; no way of reaching her, last message I got from her was about half a year ago wherein she told me to delete the domain I've been hosting for her, and that was it to it - no further communication, nobody has heard a word of her since, neither having seen her on some party nor anything else ...

... and of course this is like as if the person you think you did know quite well has died.

My suggestion: You gotta live with this fact, but move on and get yourself other best friends, which will eventually change the world and way of your life so extensively that you're not anymore trying to connect the past with the present - actually: not living in the past anymore! :)
