So, you know the funny smell of a good roasted hard disk, dont you? Well, I DO - since last monday (03.05.2004), my notebook hdd has totally failed, gone down the drain, whatever.
With ALL my fucking data of half a year - UN-backup'ed!
God fuck it!
... Read my big rage rant over there. Dont got the nerve now to repeat all over and over again, sorry ;)
cu, w0lf.
ps: yes, I'm currently using a UN-hdd'ed 'puter, booting from Knoppix 3.4 CD-ROM only Linux. At least this stuff still works well .. although all my projects, ideas, etc. are obviously killed - only if I'd find a program to do a bit-by-bit hdd analysis ... but where? Any suggestions?

Gateway WindowsXP Professional. Happened while I was upgrading and downloading NIS/NAV! One worm ans six virus's came on board.
Then I ran fix and it said to restart. So I did and it didn't, toast hard drive failure. Last two weeks have been hard on windowsxp,2000. Well I got another one now, I think it must be the heaviest lap top in the world. hp pavillionzd2000 it weighs more than a 12 pack! Good luck to you all.

I managed to reformat, but not toast, my wonderful 160GB hdd a few months back, due to some weird hardware glitch which allowed a mouse i took home from the computer refurbishing organization i work at to butcher hard drives.
I managed to save most of the data by using a recovery tool that my school has, so you might want to look into that before you toss your "toasted" disks.
Do you like blue? I hope so, cuz thats the one thing about me that shall never change.
