Disrespect of Privacy

78% | 3

Privacy to me is very important. I keep my outside world, and my inside very seperate. Very few people are privlaged to the "real" me. Most people see a version of me that is outgoing. When in reality I am a very shy, and quite person.

But over the course of the last few weeks, 1 things happened.

My girlfriend sent me a leter. Enclosed was a check for her half of the cell phone bill. It was in a security envelope, with a note wrapped around it. The note was maybe one line, and of not of much importance. (Hello Honney, I love you. Girlfriends Name).

The letter was mailed from my girlfriend on a thursday. Not the next thursday, but the tuesday after that, (a week and a half) I still havent goten the mail.

Now the post office takes tops a day or two to deliver mail from a hour away. Sometimes same day if its direct.

So that means my university was the hold up.

Now our mail boxes are sealed from the front and only opened with our room keys. The read has a metal sheet, that Is not locked, and can be access by anyone in the office.

So later tonight, after 10 PM the CA (Community Assistant)knocks on my door. She holds the check up. JUST THE CHECK.

So my problem isnt that she found the check. No thats not a big deal. My problem is the fact that she only had the check. Where was the envelope, the paper wrapped around the check!?

More to the question. HOW THE FUCK DID SOMEONE GET MY DAMN MAIL!

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT. WHO THE FUCK OPENED IT.

I am not a angree person. Unless you mess with someone else I care about. In this case my girlfriend was going crazy because she knows how much I needed the check. So I am pissed cause of all this strife caused due to this reasons. What more the only way this check was found, was after I mentioned something to the CA. Then she poped up with it out of the blue. Hmm the one of only two people that had access to it (the office). What more she mentioned she she didn't do the mail on saturday. Well what the fuck does that mater, unless it came in on saturday, and she had it sience then.

I am not the brightest man in the world. But i am no simple person. (Check the quote below).

I dislike disrespect. I dislike envasion of privacy. Most importantly, I dislike it when it effects others.

Hello Zane, welcome to life as a human being.

Ever been the victim of credit card abuse? I have, it's not pretty. It's one of those things that happen. There are many bad people out there that want to harm you. Bitching about a piece of mail that got mistreated, opened or whatever is not healthy, it's not going to solve the greater issue here. That issue is respect for our fellow man. This trait is lacking in a large portion of the worlds population. Until we address this from early on in development the problem will persist.

Any ideas?

Umm.. First of all the reason I am bitching, is because its something local. Their are only 50 people in this dorm, and only 2 with access to the mail. I am not complaining if their were 2 thousand. My point is that it was a CA of mine.

2nd yes I have been part of credit card abuse. 768.93 sense. All spent on porn sites. Something I have never paid for. It took 6 months for me to reclaim that money. Thats right it was from my back account. Threw me into a negative balance. Also made check I wrote bounce, and the penalties that go with that.

I did not right that article to get a statement like

Hello Zane, welcome to life as a human being.

.

I find that comment very insulting.

The reason I am bitching is context. It was also something to write about. Yes I know how the world really is. I have been in if for quite a while. My problem is that its a local issue. A very small issue. What is most interesting is that way it was handeled. This wasn't direct fraud. It was someone being a moron.

Bitching about a piece of mail that got mistreated, opened or whatever is not healthy, it's not going to solve the greater issue here.

Ohh and since you are mornoic enough to miss one concept of life. To each indiviual different things come with differnt standards. Mean that opening mail to you, while not important, could be for me. Meaning that in comparison to Credit Fraud, my issues are trival. But I have been through Credit Fraud. i got my money back. Problem with mail, is someone walks off with it, and its gone.

I am not getting it back.

Huge Difference.

As far as solving the problem, this is a small inhose problem. Nothing that is worldly in issue. I didn't write this to start a debate, nor start some movement.

Life is simple.

As far as this being unhealthy. I wroet one article on a online forum. Took me 5 minutes. If you think 5 minuts of writing is unhealthy, you need your head examined.

Don't try to council me, I don't appreciate it.

WOW, I sense some anger in your words. It's hard to tell context or tone from a written message on an online forum. I bet that rating is a red one.

Don't try to council me, I don't appreciate it.

Would it have been better to not have any comments in this thread? I was offering my 2 cents. That's what I did. Take it for that. Everyone has an opinion, I served up mine. I was not angry when I wrote it. I'm not angry now and I wasn't trying to counsel anybody.

Re: Disrespect of Privacy

No I wasn't angry with my post. I was just making sure you understand how out of place your "Two Cents" were. Being that you made all assumptions.

Good Day.
