(I'm going to start a new thread every now and then as to not let this get confusing.)
Sleeping
null, Orchid and maybe one other guy can sleep at "my" house. The rest at Ettena's (5 bike-minutes distance from me). I've got some spare space left if Munich residents (Weasel) don't feel like catching a train at 4 ó clock in the morning when there's no train going at that time anyway. We maybe could even establish a third base at Alekseji's (5 bike-minutes distance from me and Ettena), if he and his parents agree. There are enough 2x1m units for everyone.
Friday
What would appeal more to you: Spend Friday at our house, let my mum (she really lives up to her surname, 'Koch') feed us up until we're bursting (you will be bursting, believe me), get to know each other, play some fun board game, etc. or alternatively go to Hofbraeuhaus more or less right after you arrive?
Games
Okay we're all geeks so I guess we won't get around playing something that weekend. The question is of course: PC games or board games? I somewhat like Weasel's boardgame idea, although I'd also love to frag some of you people at Unreal.
I own/play/have access to the following board games:
- Bluff (best drinking game ever)
- Siedler von Catan
- Raumfahrer von Catan (Siedler in Space)
- Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition
- Paranoia (most hilarous role playing game ever)
- Carcassonne
- Torres
- Das Nilpferd in der Achterbahn
- Activity
If we can agree on a PC game to play, I'm into the following:
- Starcraft / Broodwar (which I'm going to kick your ass in)
- Quake 3 (great easy-to-get-into mods for that one too)
- Unreal Tournament (I know Weasel played that)
- Tribes 2 (maybe too few people, let's play this on the Internet some other time)
- Counter-Strike (dito)
- Serious Sam 2 (Doom 2002, anyone could play this)
- Half-Life
- Bomberman
Board games have the advantage that they don't need expensive hardware to be shipped to Munich. On the other hand, we're, uhm, somewhat geeks.
Bring PCs? (Connectivity update)
Getting our boxes wired together will only work quickly in my house. Currently we have four open RJ45 ports on our hub. So if more than 4 people want to bring PCs, null should take that additional hub with him.
It also is somewhat tight in the story our family-LAN is located on, so please bring sufficient patch cables.
If you just need to check your e-mails and surf the net, you don't have to bring your PC because you can do that on one of my family's five boxen.
If we want to play a network game, the following stuff is in our house already:
- 2 PCs capable of playing 3D shooter like Unreal or Quake
- 3 PCs capable of playing Starcraft
- 4-5 PCs capable of playing really old games like Bomberman
Everyone please post what they'd be willing to play, and what hardware they could bring along.

Games
Well I probably suck at pretty much any computer game, but what the hell, let's rock. :-)
As for non-electronic games, I'm somewhat curious about Bluff, but all the games on the list look like fun, so I really don't mind.
Hardware I can bring
* A 100Mbit hub with 5 ports (5 PCs or 4 PCs and 1 uplink). Two 10m and one (2 if needed) 5m Cat5 cables.
* Two NICs, RealTek 8029 and (IIRC) 8129, both of them work with Linux.
* If needed (or my geekiness wins over): My desktop computer, an 1GHz Athlon w/256MB RAM, 3D Prophet 4500 (Kyro II chipset w/64MB), some onboard soundchip, 2 32x CD-ROM drives (1 toaster, no DVD) and 2 network cards. It dual-boots Win2k/SuSE7.3 but there's no Linux driver for the 3D stuff. The monitor is however not too great (still a 14"), it's big and I only have one power cable with a German plug, so do you happen to have a spare monitor?
* Some other stuff (null-modem cables, (S)VGA cards, an RJ45 cross-cable, a 128MB SDR RAM module, ...)
Friday
Pizza sounds great! :-) The Hofbräuhaus would be interesting to visit, but maybe it's a bit complicated on the first evening when people drop in one by one. Other opinions?

I agree on the Hofbraeuhaus thing == better spent the first day at home, maybe then a local bar or a short trip to Munich. I will want to chat!
Any board game is fun played with sufficient people and maybe a beer :P
As for PC games: Aside from Starcraft, Tribes and Counter-Strike, you don't really need much experience to have fun with games like Serious Sam or Unreal... just shoot anything that moves.
Spare monitor: I have a 15" for you... unless my whole family's on their PCs you can also have a 17" or 19".
Network cables are the most important thing to bring along, because we've got none of them lying around unused currently.

Woow, great! Thanks a bunch! :-)

'kay I'll try to find as many as possible. Everyone who needs one please let me know.

Mmh, I think I'll have Filet Mignon (medium) with a sauce of red wine and champignons, Petersilienkartoffeln in Thymian geschwenkt and young baby broccoli. And do you think I can have a a glass of Californian 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon with that? :-)

i'll bring my portable since i prefer to prefere to store mail there (thx to weasel i get it via uucp ;-)) but that's all i need it for. it will propably remain in the bag after that... propably some mp3s exchanged... 2x1m is allright, i'll bring my sleeping bag... i don't have any 3d fps installed, the only game sitting on my portable's disk is freeCIV... could in addition install civilisation call to power or sid meier's alpha centauri... i guess i'll prefere board/card games anyway (hmmm maybe i can still find my old pack of uno...if you tighten rules a little it's great fun...)
as for the first evening getting to know each other is what i prefere over seeing drunk tourists in the hofbräuhaus before trying to catch up... and pizza! i love pizza, just make shure there's no anchovy...

Orchid *** (7) throws in her two cents...
I agree to Jaz' ideas: Pizza (I love it) and get to know each other maybe at games for the first day.
Saturday: Get to know the city and its monuments (if there are some :-), spend a quiet afternoon and go with Jaz to this huge superspecial discotheque :-) Let's have a big party!
Sunday morning: BIG Easter brunch including eggs and bunny seeking for geeky kids (the boys), slight good bye ceremonies ;-)
Thanking null for having locked up orchid in the cellar 'cause she was complaining about everything as usual ;-) Maybe she even locked herself up because five or more new people are just too much for a shy person like her *trembling* ;-)
No, no, I'll try to be nice and not to hide beyond null for the whole weekend but I can't promise I will talk to anybody before sunday ;-)
