I was checking up on my posts today and I was wondering, how did everyone find their way to NetAlive? Now, I know a few may have been word of mouth from Jaz, but exactly how did you find your way here?
Me personally I found my way here doing a Google search a little over a year ago looking for a foum to post for help for a MSVC 6 problem. After I registered and got to looking around, I stayed.
I was wondering how you found your way here, was it by word of mouth, link on a site, or just random domain names being typed into the tool bar?
Pistol Grip Pump In My Lap At All Times
I found it on Google as well, while searching for a writing website about four months ago. Found it to be interesting, tried it out, and the rest is history.
Hmm... I'm sure there are more exciting stories than this. It would be great if someone found this site searching for "Giant flying dildos"...

I came here in '98 because of either the announcement null did mention or because a personal invite of Jax himself, happening during the time I was around on the Connection Universe BBS (a way of going/being online many of you might not know anymore at all). Im not quite sure, because at these times, I was subscribed on TCG, too (probably I'm still subscribed, although TCG is infunctional by now).
By that time I was known under another pseudonym, which I still use for my artwork and design creations, but not much as my primary online nickname anymore.

Did you try searching it? Because that search on google does take you to a topic on Netalive, and it delivers on what it promises ;)
It's here if you want to check it out.

Ooh, that must have been somewhere in '98. I don't remember exactly. I either got to NAO because the Coder's Knowledge Base was hosted on www.netalive.org back and I poked around to see what else is there, or I followed the invitation in the original announcement posted to a mailing list called The Coder's Guild. Aside from a few outages with serious downtime, I have more or less stayed here ever since...

Well I came here through google itself.
I was looking for a forum where people can share the philosophical thoughts, funny ideas and thoughts about racism and intercast which I hate......
I found this forum and found it really cool. :)
I am happy to be a netalive'zen.
Is reading in the bathroom considered Multi-Tasking? :)
My friend was always telling me about random things so i ended up checking out the website. It was cool, so i posted every so often. She sort of open me to the idea of posting. Of course, iv'e posted before but i started on various websites after this one even though this is my main one. Where she heard of it is a mystery.... Probably google
It is better to be pissed off than pissed on.
I came here because the CKB (coders' knowledge base) was here.
By the way, Jaz, I still want to get hold of that!!
I keep leaving netalive, once for about 2 years, but i always remember it and come running back.
Cheers

I discovered this site from a search engine (i believe it was Google) when i typed "he's moving away" and was brought to a post in Love and Lifesence.
Since the guy i'm in love with is moving away this summer, I was sad and looking for similar stories to read.
A good thing about this website that is probobly making it grow is you don't have to be a member, signed in, to access posts. Many sites have this, so people don't discover them from search engines.

Where did I come from... well I was researching "when is the right time to say I love you" which delivered me a post from Love and Lifesense. Of course, by the time I registered... I couldn't get back to respond. So I decided to look around. And so my first post was born.
I started on BBS back in 89 or so, which rolled into irc, which pretty much doesn't exist, certainly not with the same mentality of the original people. So I took a break from chatting, the entire Internet for about six years.
The early part of this year I had taken some time off to pursue my art career, I no longer had the ability of accessing the internet at the office... so I reestablished my LAN line and here I am.
I stayed because NAO and the people that make it up remind me a lot of my early days chatting, being they are educated, opinionated and courteous. I also like the fact that I can post my thoughts and get responses... kinda like free therapy.
So, to all of you, thank you.

I caught a link about the lyrics to kk's "Begraben" on Martin's MP3.com website and ended up here. When I found out Jaz was also the guy from Lost::Transmission (I had found both kk and Lost::Transmission from the old Stonetears/SuRmusic site, and God only knows how I found that site), I decided to stick around and stalk. Plus, I was intrigued by (a) Martin's short-story, (b) Sammy, Jaz, null, SinisterMinister (where'd he go?), w0lf, and the whole NAO-mindset, and then kept here because it's so cool.

ps: but I wish Sammy would come here more often ... or maybe even answer the mails I'm writing to her. :-/
