It seems to me that a huge number of posts end up unrated, or with only one rating. I don't know if anyone else has a problem with this, but I like to get some feedback on posts, if not a reply just a rating at least.
I must admit, I don't personally rate as much as I perhaps should. Sometimes I'm stuck because I don't want to be constantly dishing out a max rating, but 60% seems too low.
I'm going to go rate everything in site, but while I'm here, how come Jaz doesn't have the top rank? He created this site gosh darnit.

Actually that's a good sign, because it means he doesn't cheat. :-) I usually give him an Excellent rating for small anouncements of new features, not for the post but for the work behind the feature. That's all I can do. And trust me when I say he's still got a lot more power than the people ranking above him :-)

I'd also appreciate if more people would rate stuff. I think I'm the only person left to read and rate every single message posted to this site.

It simply depends on what kind of material you want to see. I usually don't hand out good votes just to be nice. And I usually find myself handing out much more Mediocres than Nices and Excellents.

With university taking its toll on me, you haven't seen me posting quite as much lately. While I have earned a good deal of good ratings in the past, this karma is fading into irrelevance over time. Which is actually how it should be.

I suppose so. Gives it a "life of it's own" type thing. But I was checking it out and a lot of your more recent posts, no matter the size or quality (which is always above average) have gone entirely unrated, which I guess has an effect.
Personally, I'd be tempted to make my name show up in some super fancy font, and instead of stars have a crown-like symbol which seemed to glow and sparkle :D

I just realized this whole topic moved to an entirely different forum! *gasping in amazement*

Oh, I'm not talking about that :-) but you're right. IIRC the Rating Complaints forum was primarily created so a few people had a place to whine about not getting 20 Excellent ratings for their posts (check out the forum's symbol :-P ). That used to be a real problem, in the middle of the greatest discussion somebody could start complaining about not being rated as expected, so Jaz created the Rating Complaints forum to have a place where those posts (and all replies) could be moved to.
Since your post was moved from there to Site Related, I assume there's some interest in getting people to read your call to rate. :-)

I wrote it down as a top-priority suggestion.

The Rating Complaints forum is ignored by default for all users and I thought your not quite usual "rating complaint" deserved to be read by more than just those who explicitely chose to un-ignore the forum.

gentledeepwaters *** (11) throws in her two cents...
I know why I don't rate every post. The single reason I don't, may be that I am not using the site correctly, but, when I rate, it flips me to the page that explains the rating system, "you are rating for the first time".
That drives me nuts, messes with my karmic flow and pisses me off.
I got rating down the first time I rated. I don't wanna use my back button to get back to where I was, I don't wanna hit news and get back to where I was. I wanna rate and it not flip me to "you are rating for the first time".
And that's my reason.

I crawled through the database and there's not a single rating recorded for your name! That's why the help page keeps coming up. You have to click on on of the links provided on the help page to actually rate a post for the first time.

After your first rating you will always remain where you was. Only a small popup window will appear, confirming that your vote was recorded.
