Umm well this is a very interesting situation. Now I take it you are on some type of OSX and talking about users. I hope there is more than one user. If there is I hope they are admin. If they are admin I think (not totally sure) that you can change the passwords of the other users from their System Prefs. If not then I am not sure what you can do. I would say you would have to re install the OS or something. Unless you want someone to hack it. But I can't do that so don't ask me.
You're gonna have to do a little hacking, but if you print this out and follow it precisely you should be fine:
Hold down ctrl-s while booting
type "mount -uw /" <return> at the command prompt to mount the drive with both read and write access
type "SystemStarter" <return>
type "passwd <user>" <return>
enter the new password twice (e.g. type it and hit return).
Hit ctrl+d or type "logout" <return>
Should be fine. The GUI will load, and you can use your new password.
What this does is log you into single user mode, which is a failsafe mode designed to accomodate situations just like yours.
