Silent Movie

?% | 1

Figures flicker, fading slow
Nearing the end of the show
Lights go down, up again
No applause, it's not the end

The movie's stopped it's broken down
The crowds just shout, the actors frown
Directors come and give a grin
For the film again is about to begin

Again the figures flicker and fade
Like sun hiding from winter shade
Lights go down, up again
This time for real, it is the end

The end is sad the end is long
We must be brave we must be strong
Can't hold on forever to what is dear
It stops now… it stops here.

The crowd then begin to cheer
Not one person shed a tear
Though ending's sad and ending's long
Now we know we can move on

Move on to futures too unclear
The film stops now, our film stops here.

Re: Silent Movie

Kaizley, as a huge fan of poetry I have to say that this is one hell of an excellent poem. Outstanding work! I hope we get to read more of your writings in the future.
