This is a bit on the random side, but has anyone else noticed that iTunes (I have v4.6 now, but I've noticed this on just about every version) has specific preferences for certain types of music?
I know this sounds bizarre, but it's almost like there is some sort of quirk programmed into the system.
For example, I have about 800 songs. Approximately 20 of them are by the Smashing Pumpkins. But Pumpkins songs, when I have the library on random (or now that inane Party Shuffle function), will come up, oh, once every four songs or so.
This happens to my roommate, who also has iBook, quite often as well.
Now, I know that the current version has the ratings system, and I do have a lot of the Smashing Pumpkins stuff rated fairly high. But this was happening back before the ratings system, and in any case, it's not as if the Pumpkins are the only band whose songs I've given a high rating to.
Are we the only Mac users who have ever noticed this? Theories as to why the hell it might happen?
