It's Robert Rodriguez's (Deserado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids) next movie. Based on the comic book pictured above by Frank Miller. It's written by Robert and Frank Miller himself. The two are collaborating to try and make the film represent the comic in a way that is true to both it's story and it's unique visual style.
Not only am I excited about the fact that Rodriguez is writing and directing it, but the film is to star some of the world's greatest acting talents (in my opinion at least).
Mickey Rourke will play the lead... I'm not a huge fan of his, but he does seem to have the features.
The amazing list also includes:
Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Buscemi, Benicio del Toro, Michael Douglas, Christopher Walken & Elijah Wood.
If you haven't read the comic, I suggest you pick it up. It's really fucked up. Gave me nightmares.

Well, they're not fake, those pictures are being put out by the official site. I'm kinda disappointed with Jessica Alba being cast as Nancy. She's hot, but Frank Miller always described/illustrated Nancy as like.. the most drop dead gorgeous woman to ever live. I guess I can't think of someone better to play her, but that doesn't keep me from being a little put off.
I'm pretty sure I've read all of the Sin City stories, and for once I hope the studio puts pressure on them to make it a tad lighter than the comics. They were SO friggin' dark that I actually lost sleep. They really bothered me *shakes fist at Frank Miller*. I'm sure that's what he was going for though. Mission accomplished, Frank.
With Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller directing, it will definately be something to see.

Oh... when he said
Jessica Alba is a horrible actress, but she's hot as hell. I suppose these could be fake, but they look pretty authentic to me
... I thought he was talking about her chest... honest mistake. ;)

Here's one of Nancy from That Yellow Bastard... If nude art offends you, don't click. You can see boobage.
Yeah, I have all of Sin City scanned on my comp. Here's the best pic I could find of Nancy that didn't give any story away.

(too lazy to figure out how to link that at the moment)
Think that looks anything like Jessica Alba? I say nah.

No... but who could you get to play her? Pamela Anderson?
I do know that Frank Miller was involved in the casting process, so I take some comfort in that. At least he would have chosen people he thought could best portray his characters.
A lot of the actors chosen don't look their part at all. But then some others are really perfect. Benecio Del Torro looks perfect for his role (but I think they added some chin). Mickey Rourke looks pretty good as Marv.

Yeah, that's what I said, I can't really think of anyone better. I'm just a little disappointed. Mickey Rourke looks great as Marv, even though I don't usually like him. It's just his kind of role, so good times there. Rosario Dawson looks damn near perfect as Gail, who'd have thought it.
And Bruce Willis is going to be great as Hartigan, I just know it. Probably one of my favorite characters.
