Reading Salvial_Ten's journal

For the first time in over a year, I allowed myself to get into a serious conversation about relationships. This, I admit is the painfully stupid part of my day. The blindingly obvious is the fact that I'm entirely too attracted to one of the people I was conversing with for my own damn good. This too, falls under the catagory painfully stupid.

It isn't that said person and I aren't compatable...it's just that I know for a patented fact that there is a serious deficiany in physical attraction on the part of the opposite party. I however, am not suggesting that I'm the most obscenely horrid looking wretch on the face of the planet. I'm just acknowledging the fact that I'm not exactly the essance of Aphrodite, Venus, or the muses men often seek.

Back to blindingly obvious. Another thing that's become quite apperant to me lately is that I should likely spend alot more time perfecting all the little kinks in my academic writing whilst I'm still a fish and have time to form the habbit and get much quicker at it by the time it comes to needing to write massive papers. Oh well, that's one thing I'm probably not going to do. Procrastination will be my death...Eventually.

Another thing that's obvious to me now, that wasn't before, is that I actually do want some sort of relationship with the opposite sex. Granted, I've got male friends galor, but for once, just once I'd like to spend time with a male and not automatically get dropped into the "just friends" catagory. It's pretty goddamn frustrating.

I know this is your journal, but I'm not sure what, if any, etiquette exists on replying to journal entries, so I'm just gonna let you know what I think. :)

It sucks when you aren't the most attractive person in the world, as we all know. It also sucks when guys or girls have stupidly high standards in regards to physical appearance, because ultimately they just meet less people and they end up with a far lower chance of finding someone who's personality they actually enjoy. Young people also don't realize that for a long term relationship, personality is just so much more important than looks (I'm sure you can figure out why, just think about getting old together, and lasting long enough together to do it!).

What I really wanted to say though is this: your name is Salival Ten, which I can only assume is a double reference to Tool's box set and Pearl Jam's best (read: only decent) album. What this tells me is that you have awesome taste in music, and you have an attention to detail that many people lack. You are probably also intelligent and well informed, based on the two bands you chose as your namesake(s).

My advice to you would be to get involved in the local live music scene. Start going to local shows, even if you don't know the bands that are playing. Soon you'll figure out which venues cater to your musical tastes, and you'll probably get to know some of the local musical personalities. Its a great way to meet people with similar interests, as well as one of the best ways to stay tapped in to a good source of new music. Lastly, once some of the guys start seeing you around, they'll pick up on the fact that you have good music taste, and for music lovers thats all it takes. :) Who knows, maybe you'll even snag a band member or two along the way.

The Pearl Jam reference is accedental, the Tool reference is intentional. As for the local music thing, the complete irony is the fact that the above mentioned love interest knows the local scene like the back of his hand. Heh. I'll probably con him into going to some live stuff, it might kick things off. Or like you said, I could always find myself a band-guy. :-p

I find that I (beig a male) am usually completely oblivious to members of the opposite sex who are attracted to me. (Unless they are overly horny and I have to chase them away with a baseball bat ;). But who counts those ones anyway?)

Anway, just thought you'd like to know males are ignorant about relationships - ad most other things.
