The Mac Mini

Never in the history of computing has such a revolutionary little device been revealed. It is cheap, powerful and best of all, there are a million things you can do with it.

It works like a normal Mac so I won't go into that as you can read a bunch of articles tha say the same thing. What I will tell you is why this is so freaking cool.

You see, this little bad boy is built to go into little places. So that's what I did. I took out the recessed shelf in my Toyota Echo that usually has a dashboard clock in it, stripped off the casing for the computer and mounted it right there in the dash.

Next, I routed some of the air conditioning so that it stayed cool, added a small screen from a portable DVD player, took out my CD player and attached all the speakers to a small USB pre-amp that fit right in the old CD player spot.

A simple GPS reciever mounted up in that rain gutter thing at the top of the hood and I now have a system in my car that plays movies, has a huge Mp3 library, gaming, wifi, navigation and more and it's all run by voice command or wireless mouse and keyboard (those two used by the passenger!!!)

My latest thing I'm going to try is to put a small video projector in the grill somewhere (I'm thinking in one of the fog light wells) so that I can project movies or better yet, a ghostly image into the fog ahead of me. Imagine seeing a DOOM3 monster crusing down the road. lol

So yeah, get the mini just so you can see what Macs are all about and maybe, just maybe, you can find something fun to do with it.
