Cold and colder

91% | 2

You would think by the tempratures that we had been transported to one or the other poles.
It's cold out there and I can't help but wonder how many people will be alive in the city tomorrow morning.

They say it's going to get colder, and there don't seem to be enough clothes to bundle up in to stop the cold from rattling around in my bones.

I've never experienced heat that was so hot that I couldn't escape it. Yes, I've been in places where the temprature rose above 100 degrees, but that was only for a short time.
Then it would subside, and 90 would seem comfortable then.

But they say that it's going to get colder out there. Tonight it's suppose to hit between -10 and minus 25 or 30.
I know there are people who are homeless and they are out there.
If I were a polar bear this would probably seem comfortable..so I suppose it's all relative.

I heard on the news the other night that we are in another el ninio and that's why all of this is going on.
I don't know if I spelled that right.
But what ever it is, it's cold!

I wonder if there will ever be a time when there isn't some kind of drought or death cold going. It would be nice to have something somewhere in a middle ground.

But I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
I think that much of what is happening is because the earth is still changing and in the middle of constant growth.
I think that the winds the way the jet stream flows are in direct relation to what's going on inside the earth.
I know the sun and the moon affect things here to some extent, but I think that the weather is in direct relationship to the earth's ever changing face.

Here's another thought that goes through my head...if the sun is slowly getting bigger will there come a point where the sea will just start getting warmer and warmer and end up boiling away?
And this thought, how can it be so cold at the bottom of the sea when just below it is a molten core? Kevin just explained why.
I remember seeing thoes cut aways of the earth in school. I always thought the core looked like a gum ball.
A big red gum ball.
And if it was a big red gum ball what flavor would it be?
Cinnamon? Cherry? Raspberry?
I think cinnamon. Or red pepper maybe...

What if the planets tasted like something? I know that probably sounds really stupid, but use your immagination for a second here...if the planets tasted like something what would that something be?
Maybe mars would taste like chili sauce or pizza sauce.
A big ball of floating pizza sauce waiting for comets that taste like pepperoni.
And a few of thoes babies and you have cosmic pizza...

And what about the cosmic fish out there? Maybe they vacation on Neptune. It's a blue planet.

And Jupiter, well it might be a big ball of salsa dip...maybe it's all just a giant suppermarket out there and our taste buds are just too primative to know what we're missing.

what does this all have to do with it being so cold out there tonight? Well not a lot but hey, it gets my mind off how cold I am and working tomorrow.

Well, I suppose that's about all for the moment...sleep well for thoes who are about to do so and for thoes who's day has just begun have a good one and stay safe...
remember to tell thoes you love that you do...there is no time like the present to say thoes things that are important.

I heard on the news the other night that we are in another el ninio and that's why all of this is going on.

Well, that would explain it a bit. We've been having the craziest weather in memory. It jumped up to 12 degrees today. But overnight it's supposed to drop to -8. Oh well, should be good skating ice.

What if the planets tasted like something?

I love this. :) And I agree, definitely chili sauce for Mars. But Jupiter I think is a cheeze ball, the kind you get at a deli that go great with crackers. Venus, is a spicy dijon mustard with a swirl of honey. Mercury is a meatloaf. Totally a nicely baked meatloaf, kept near the heat so it stays warm.

Mercury meatloaf...yeah..I can get into the idea of mercury being meatloaf.
I love meatloaf. :)

Saturn would have to be the icecreamery of the solar system...it has it's own drive line, the rings.
I wonder what Saturn carhops would look like.

*smiles*

Crazy weather and food for thought. How much better can it get?
:)

It's gotten warm here again. We're going to have a fire tonight. A big bon fire in the snow.
It'll be the first winter bonfire of this season.
And the first one this year. If it gets clear we'll stand around the fire and talk about the stars.
A nice way to spend an evening. It's very tribal and something that if I ever leave the farm I will definately miss.

When I was doing invantory my boss called me and we were having a fire. I was in the process of getting drunk and told her that we were having a fire and she asked if we were bar-b-quing, to which I responded that it was just something we did, Having a fire that is, and I don't think the idea of just having a fire made much sense to her.
I've met alot of people like that.
It makes perfect sense to me.
Way back before there was lots and lots of mindless entertainment to pass the eveing with people would gather around a fire and talk. Sometimes share food, and basicly have a good time.
It served to deepen the bonds with in the group and offered the chance to relax in a way that making a fire to cook over or heat water over doesn't.
It's fire for the sake of enjoyment.

Anyway, back to planetary food. I like the idea of planets being food. I wish that we still believed that the moon was made of cheese. And if the moon was made of cheese we could have one rather large box of crackers to go with and maybe some nebula wine....hmmmm wonder what wine that old would taste like.

I wonder what would have happened when they landed on the moon if it would have been made of cheese. Would they have sunk into the surface and become crunchy additions to the cheese?
I love cheese. And the thought of a cheese ball that big so close to the earth makes me hungry...

I wonder if we have any potatoes. If we do I think I'll wrap them in foil and roast them in the fire tonight and then when their cooked sprinkle cheese and butter on them and enjoy.

It really does look like a big scoop of caramel mocha swirl...

A big bon fire in the snow.

Ah, bonfires. I love em' (even beyond my natural pyrotechnical love for all things burning ;)). I actually spent a whole night outside by a bonfire once, with a bunch of others. And it was quite cold in fact, so I didn't get much (any) sleep and I stayed as close to the fire as possible. Inhaled a lot of smoke I recall. Ah well, it was fun.

I don't think the idea of just having a fire made much sense to her.

Oh I don't know, I think people really are in touch with the appeal of fire. Just the other day I saw an advertisement on TV selling a video tape of a fire burning: pop it in your VRC and bam, instant fireplace. :P

And if the moon was made of cheese we could have one rather large box of crackers to go with

The diameter of the moon is about 3,479 km, that means the radius is 1,739.5. r cubed times pi equals 16,535,722,367.8, so the volume is 16,535,722,367.8 cubic km. There are 1 million cubic centimetres in a cubic metre, and 1 billion cubic metres in a cubic kilometre, therefore the volume translates to 16,535,722,367,843,418,101,277,266.2 cubic cm. Assuming each cracker holds 3 cubic cm of cheese, you would need 5,511,907,455,947,806,033,759,088 and one with a piece missing crackers to snack the moon away. ;)

That's a lotta crackers. :)

Did you get any sleep the next day? I would love to camp out some winter's eve by a campfire and see if I could relax enough to sleep.
I would definately plan for the occasion and make sure that the gear was for sub-zero weather.

Gets me thinking...if there is anymore snow this winter I wonder how easy it would be to construct an egloo...I think I spelled that right.
My head is pretty stuffed up right now, and everyone here is fighting this nasty flu that is running rampent.
It's a good thing you can't pass it on through the net.
If that were possible I wonder how many people out there would get sick from reading pages off the net...:)

There are other people I've met along the road who seemingly don't understand the nature of gathering around a fire, simply for the sake of gathering around it.
They are the same ones who don't seem to be very intouch with their creative side.
They seem almost terrified of it. Like somthing got lost along the way of life for them.

I tend to spend time with people who have at least some awareness of the more primitive things that lay in all of us.

We ended up not having the fire due to a change in the weather. It's hard to have a good bonfire when there is rain going on.
So we've postponed it.

There is something so basic about being with family of choice around something so powerful as fire that does things for the soul that are good.

As of this morning, or afternoon we seem to have gone into premature spring.
But that could change at any moment. I've heard alot of people say that if you don't like the weather here wait 10 minuets and it will change.
And that's pretty acurate.
A few days ago we had temps in the minus zone and now they are running in the upper 40's.
No wonder the viruses are so vicious, there isn't any weather consistant to kill them off.

I would love to be able to see them as they float through the air, then I could take a big battle ax and take a few out...:)

Oh well, solar system deli sounds like a better subject to wander around in.

Got a question for you. If you had three wishes what would you wish for?
I thought about this one long and hard and have narrowed my wishes down to more than three.

This is another one of thoes fun things. :)
