Dreams do come true

They do ........

I spent the weekend with one of the technicians from the Mclaren F1 team, he deals with the weather side of the race and does a lot of communication with the Pits especially if its raining.

Saterday was flat out, if anyone watched qualifying you can vouch for that and the instruments were going haywire.

Sunday was as quite as a mouse, some skidded showers here n there and that was about it.

I helped packup and then we had to go to Albert Park to pickup a van, before that happened Ian took me into the Mclaren Pits, introdued me to there IT Technician, Engineers, Computer men, Pit Crew, Radio guys and also gave me a complete tour of the facility ...I was blown away, I never expected this.

Well we still keep incontact, Ian has my email and mobile and I will be getting photos of his setups around the world as he moves from track to track during the 2005 F1 season

This topped any experiences I had last year, and it may get even better next year.

Oh ....I got given a Mclaren Hat, gloves and also a bottle of wine from there catering area :) ...I have a new found respect for Formula One Racing

My favourite team has been Mclaren and well I have a new found respect for them, I dont like Ferrari myself, I think its about time that Michael moved on and let someone else take the lime light, and I think he got a taste of what its like to be unsuccesful in a race yesterday

Aaaaaawwww!! I must get a hold of those pictures!!! I have loved McLaren since Senna was running for them!! And now I simply adore the great Kimi Raikkonen. If you have any pictures of him, or the cars or whatever that has McLaren written on it, please post it here, or send it to me or... or... or...

I bet that it must have been a wonderful experience! I live in Italy, and I was offered several times tickets to go to Maranello and see Ferrari boxes and pilots, but I never accepted simply because I don't like Ferrari, and I believe that Schumacher sucks (especially after what he did to Villeneuve in 1997 for the World Championship, and what he has recently done in the race of Melbourne). I do like Barrichello though.

Thoughts? Are you guys fans of Formula 1? If so, which is your favorite team? Mind you, your all time favorite team :P
Go Silver Arrows!!

I rather like watching Formula One, though it's hard to get it over here in the US (at least in my region). Most people greatly prefer the death-defying left-turn-extravaganza that is NASCAR around here. However, I'm sure that at some point in the next two weeks (gah!) Fox Sports will be kind enough to show at least highlights of the race in Melbourne. I'm looking forward to seeing what Renault can do, especially if Ferrari really is going to wait until the fifth (according to Reuters) to use their new car.

To be honest I am thinking that what Fisichella did in Melbourne was quite a miracle. I mean, surely his car is getting way much better this year than previously, but Fisichella is always Fisichella :P And whereas he's Italian, and I should be supportive around him because I am Italian too, I can tell you that we tend to believe he's not such a great pilot. I guess that Renault will achieve these good results if and only if the car will be keeping making the difference.

Renault, indeed!

Looks like Renault managed to pull it out after all, though not with Fisichella. I wonder how the race was (all I can find about it is on Le Figaro, and I don't exactly know a lot of vocabulary about auto racing in French)
