Excited & Anxious

Well, i haven't written anything in a while and i thought that i would. Well, to explain the subject of this journal i just want to say that i'm excited because about a month or so ago i recieved an e-mail about a summer program at Stanford University. i'm happy that my name is out there enough that Stanford has heard of me. i sent in my application March 17 and now i can't wait to hear if i can go to the interview in Cambridge, Mass. I'm just really excited that i have a chance to go. well, i had to say something to someone other than my family so i wrote in here. plus, now i can't get yelled at for being idle, or whatever you guys call it when people don't write or post anything.

Congratulations!

Stanford is indeed one of the best universities of the United States, and I bet you really love studying... I can tell by the excitement you put into the post you have written about it :) I am sure that you'll do great at the interview, and that you'll make it.

Again, congratulations about that! I think that the years of college can be the best years of one's life if they are lived in the right way (I am not so lucky about it, but this is just because of the stupidity of the Italian guys and girls my age unfortunately --> aside from me ;) I am different!), and so I wish you really all the best about that.

I think that the important thing is that you choose something that you like studying, and that you wouldn't regret later on.
Keep us updated about your successes, alright?!

Thank you

Thanks for the support. I'm glad that others show an intrest in the opportunities of others (you don't get much of that where i'm from). So thanks again and i will keep you updated as to how it all works out.

Well, Alexis, I can assure you that I don't get much of that here either. You should just read a few of my latest posts (probably my last 20ish or so) and you'll see the whole story of how three people whom I considered friends turned against me in a very utter way and with no explanation at all.

Actually, later on I found out the explanation... they are jealous of my fiance. One of them actually likes him. But let me mention that my fiance - Hawkeye here on Nao - lives in America and I live in Italy. My "friends" have seen him only once or twice, and heh seems it was love on first sight (only from their part though), and for that reason they started acting all spiteful towards me.

Though, I am a sensitive person, and I do feel happy about others' success and goals achieving. Therefore if you are taken to Stanford, I will be certainly happy for you, and not jealous to say the least :)

Congratulations again, and keep us posted as I already said. I guess that now you got me curious to know whether you made it or not, and also if that will be your final choice, or if you would rather go somewhere else.

As I said earlier, the most important thing is that you choose what you want, and what you think you'd prefer to do even later on in life. I think that unlike highschool, university/college definitely changes your life, or somehow binds it to what you chose to study, and if you realize that you don't like what you're studying... well, I feel like it is a personal failure to say the least.

For this reason, probably choosing what to study in college is one of the most important choices one has to take during his/her life. And thefore I encourage you to reflect upon your decision and take the one that you are totally sure from the bottom of your heart. Good luck :)

Wow. You 'talk' to me and support me as if we know each other. It really amazes me that strangers can do that. Sorry about those 'friends' of yours. I know how that is. My 'friend' lied to me once and it wasn't something that one should lie about. but i got over it and we are still friends but i don't trust her as much as i used to. i'll probably post the whole story at one time. but thanks again for the support and i'll let you know as soon as i know if i can go to the next phase of this program. (i still have to find out if i can go to the interview and if i can than i'll find out if i can enter the actual program) Thanks and i'll keep you informed.
