Hi there,
just wanted to note this: many, many people I know, eg. good friends of mine, whom to I suggest entering NAO, are scared away the moment they crawl a bit around the forums - each and everyone said it was because of the ratings, which would, according to them, give NAO a very elitist look.
Anybody got some proper suggestions on how to persuade someone who doesnt know NAO that well to become a happy, satisfied NAOi, too?

I believe having a setting to *hide* the rank from public view would do wonders! Why does my rank need to be public information? It serves nobody but me and it's something I'd rather not have people know about. Why? Because the minute people see the rank they start judging / stereotyping and forming impressions that have no basis in reality.
Just my thoughts on it...

What a friend of mine - whom I wanted to get attracted by the NAO community - said to me, about ratings: when her favorite message board didnt have ratings, or at least, nobody had explained them to them, nobody gave a fuck about it. Nowadays, you mostly try to get better ratings, not just simply act in community ways.
What I like about the ratings of NAO is: it's all done for the purpose - to get well-done posts, good thoughts, different opinions - not something like a 'yeah, u can push dad up your A55!'-crap.

ps: I'm happily drunk rigt now, so forgive some söelling errors ;)
