This thing kicks ass!

I recently bought it for 15 bucks at Wal-mart due to a local mark down. It allows me to to chat to any of my AOL friends wirelessly for up to 150 feet, but to be honest, I took it outside and walked to the end of my driveway (about 200 feet) and it worked excellently.

Although it only has support for AOL, if you are a rabid AOLer, this is a must have. I can be comfortable in my bed, or outside and still chat with online friends. My AOL list has been pretty thin up until now. I think I'm going to try and get friends to use trillian and AOL so I can talk to them wirelessly.

I'd recommend this thing to anyone who wants to be able to talk wirelessly, especially if you share one computer. You can find more info here:

I too am a huge IM whore. Why, I probably IM more than I play video games, code, IRC, and all the other geeky shit I do, combined. SO, if i could find means to IM on the go, for all of the protocols that I use (yahoo, aim, icq, irc, jabber, msn) I'd not be able to handle my joy. Have you found anything along those lines? By the way, how easy is it to type on that thing of yours?

Yes, there is one out called the ZipIt that allows you to talk to ICQ, AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. It uses WiFi and it costs around 100 bucks. You can get it in 6 different colors.

The thumb board takes some getting used to, but now that I've used it a couple of days, I am getting the hang of it.
