Mozilla extensions

64% | 2

I've got a killer idea for Thunderbird. I just hope someone doesn't write it before I do.

Has anyone else ever tried writing a Mozilla extension? Are there any huge pitfalls I should look out for?

I'm trying to learn how to do it now (which means I'll get it done by the end of this year if I don't procrastinate :) ). I'm just hoping that it will be a fairly straight forward and enjoyable process.

I've already read the obvious resource from Google.

Re: Mozilla extensions

So it's been five months, and I haven't started.

My idea was to build an extension that keeps stats about the email you send and receive. How often you email, from who, to who, what times, top five receipients, that sort of thing.

Maybe someone already made something like that. But since I haven't started it. Someone else can steal my idea.
