Writing on Nao from my new laptop!!

Cool isn't it? My dad bought me a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Pentium M on a Centrino architecture. God, this thing rocks!! I already am in love head over heels with him... yes, because my laptop is a boy, and his name is Rudy... like my poor, lovable cat so horridly and abruptly killed by my neighbors. I thought it was good to pay Rudy this tribute and name my pc over him.

Anyway, as soon as I got it I ran to the closest computer store to buy a wireless router, for the cheap price of 62,00 Euros, and right now I am already on line with it. Oh and guess what? I am a woman, still I did not need any kinda help to set the router and everything (also note that I use optical fibers with a hag, which might make things a little more complicated). And... not to brag too much, but... I did not even need to read the instructions for the router! :P

I am not going to write a long poem with all the technical features of the laptop yet, unless of course there is one geek in between you who wants to know all the features of this wonderful example of technology.

Only thing that is not really a plus is this darn keyboard :P I am not used to it yet, but I hope it is just a matter of time. In any case, if you find spelling mistakes or something in this post, please ignore them... it's just that sometimes I hit a key instead of another, and I correct it most of the time, but I might still have left some little mess behind :P

Aah, congratulations! Good things come to those who wait, or whatever. Have fun with it!

Heh, I wonder how many of your neighbors currently are surfing the web with a newly-discovered open access point? :-P

It was encrypted in 64 bit before... before someone had an idea of making me encrypt it in 128 bit! God, if Andrea weren't such a maniac with security, I would still be fine now.

So at the moment yes, I am making a nice hot point for all my neighbors... I am trying to call that nice wonderful cousin of mine.. but at the moment he's obviously talking to his fiance... logical no?

Yeah, laptops (or notebooks? What's the difference anyway if there is one?) are really cool. I own a Sony Vaio since the beginning of my studies in 2001 or so and it still works quite good though his looking like a cow had it in her mouth. But that's also a sign for why it's so cool: You can take it with you wherever you go - almost like a child. It's already seen many places.
But I prefer it in my room on the desk. It's smaller than a computer and thanks to the wireless internet access (thanks to null of course ;) I can also carry it around in the whole flat, take it in my bad, on the balcony, the couch, null's room and so on :)
One notices it's getting old, it's not very fast and compared to my friend's not so cheap but noble Maxdata piece it doesn't look that good anymore.
If it breaks down one day, I will have to take the decision if I will buy an i-book. I adore them just for the look but don't know if they're also easy to handle. But I'm working on mac, so. But on the other hand I don't want to forget how to handle a PC. Hmm... We'll see. I'm glad to have the Vaio and I hope it'll share my days for longer.
