Sprite vs. Sierra Mist

100% | 6

Which would you prefer, Sprite or Sierra Mist? Seriously.

SPRITE
Manufacturer: Coca-Cola Enterprises
fizziness: 9
lemony-ness: 9
limey-ness: 6
tastiness: 7.5

The verdict: 7.9

SIERRA MIST
Manufacturer: Pepsi Company
fizziness: 6
lemony-ness: 7
limey-ness: 8
tastiness: 9

The verdict: 7.5

So it is settled. Sprite is SO four tenths better than Sierra Mist.

But is it just about the taste? Is that what really matters? Honestly, every single time I see a Sprite commercial, I cringe. Coca Cola's marketing devices are terrible. The undeserving fat white corporate business men of Coca Cola decided several years ago to target the African American youth. Clearly, since they are African American, they all wear jerseys, listen to rap, play basketball on the streets and have afros. "Oh, I know! How about we make our mascot a lean African American with a fro! Oh, and an action figure, too, so it can be as lifeless as our marketing techniques!" Shut up. e_e

But what about Pepsi Company? They own EVERYTHING! In your refrigerator/pantry, the majority of the crap junk food you own is made by PepsiCo. Even Quakers oatmeal is their's! They have a monopoly over the junk food we need. Go to their site to see how crazy evil they really are: www.pepsico.com

So, the next time you grab a can, think about what you're drinking. Think of not only the extremely harmful ingredients of the pop you're killing yourself with, but of the men... The men behind the soda.

Sierra Mist? I don't think they even sell that here. The United States are far ahead when it comes to softdrink technology.

What?! That's terrible!

Not really. Drinks in America are getting crappier and crappier. That's another reason why Pepsi sucks... First they came out with vanilla Pepsi, but then lime Pepsi... Then vanilla lime Pepsi... Then they decide to make it diet and flavored with Splenda... So Diet Vanilla/Lime Pepsi (With Splenda).

Ridiculous. Boycott Pepsi.

They have seemed to have lost the picture of customers like me who drink cola because it tastes good with certain foods. Of course, they can always rely on us drinking these colas, so of course their marketing does not need to include us.

That's pretty cynical I know, but every corporation esssentially is a money-grabbing leech. Afterall, the corporations which weren't money-grabbing leeches went out of business a long time ago. We really can't blame them but our system. Capitalism is survival of the fittest, where the survivors are the ones with the most amount of money at the end of the day.

Therefore, if a big industry like Pepsi tries to market young african americans, it is solely because they want to gain a stronger market hold on them in order to bring in more money. Nothing more.

It took us forever to get Diet Coke (Coke Light) with lemon, though, so all is not lost. Besides, you aren't missing out with Sierra Mist; it's like low-quality Sprite that goes flat in half the time.

customers like me who drink cola because it tastes good with certain foods.

I can't help noting here that Coca-Cola goes especially well with some greek foods, my personal favourite being feta cheese, kalamata olives, and hummous.

Hmm. I honestly prefer Sprite over Sierra Mist. I think there's just too much fizz in Sierra Mist. Apparently some people find that "refreshing"?

Back in the 8th grade, we did projects on the major companies of the United States. Then at the end of the week, we would have a sort of convention with our posters and things. I was partnered with a guy who's stepdad worked for the Pepsi Bottling Company in Nashville. So of course, out of convenience sake, we chose to do our project on the Pepsi Co..

You wouldn't believe how much stuff they own. It's practically like Disney that owns every form of entertainment, only with... well, food.

We had this gigantic list of all the things that Pepsico owned, and everyone was like, "holy crap. I didn't know they owned that..." and because everyone spent so much time reading our list of things that Pepsico owned, we got an amazing grade on our project because the teachers thought it was really amazing for all the kids to hover around like that.

And of course, that was the most irrelevent post ever, but hey. It almost made sense this time, right?
