I have a slight problem with my partition setup - it seems that most of the time, Windows insists that one of my NTFS partitions is corrupted and needs to be checked. Chkdsk then runs (unless I interrupt it within the 10 second period), and finds absolutly no errors.
While that's not a problem by itself, the fact that it repeats the check on every boot-up is.
Most likely, I suspect that there was an abrupt shutdown on the Hard drive, and that the unsafe flag isn't being cleared as expected. Oddly enough, I see the request to check the hard drive only on the primary computer (and not when I boot from the removable drive itself.)
It seems like a strange problem that needs some strange fix. I probably could attempt to write one myself if I knew the cause behind it, but I have to figure that out first.
Didn't consider looking in the event log (although it should report those errors upon startup), but the information was there.
On the mobile hard drive:
Cleaning up minor inconsistencies on the drive.
Cleaning up 1 unused index entries from index $SII of file 0x9.
Cleaning up 1 unused index entries from index $SDH of file 0x9.
Cleaning up 1 unused security descriptors.
The primary simply states that there is an unstable file system and that it should be checked (Even though it was supposed to.)
It seems to be solved for now, but I now know where to check in case it happens in the future.
