What really sucks is that the "what sucks" forum has the majority of the posts on NAO...
What happened to people talking about what doesn't suck, or what makes them happy and excited? Not to say that NAO doesn't have the odd cheerful post, but it just seems that (and I am included in this aswell) that most people get the majority of their inspiration to write from depressing, annoying, or angry situations that occur in their lives...
Well I am going to start a new trend (I do apologize from starting off this post on a negative note, but its true):
Lets try to make the "what rules" forum #1.
Is there anyone with me here?
Of all the things that I have lost in my life, it's my mind that I miss the most.

Jaz... I guess I am a fighter then! If it doesn't work, oh well. There is nothing wrong with trying to possibly change this basic constant of the universe that you are referring to.
Don't get me wrong, if you don't wanna do this, don't. I just thought that this place needed some cheering up after a certain long, drawn out, heated conversation that some of us were involved in ;)

We've had this discussion a few times :-) and I think it's not because most people's lives suck, but because most people are much more willing to whine about the bad stuff than cheer about the good, because when something good happens to you you're usually too busy enjoying it.
PS, you've just added one thread to the What Sucks forum :-P

Thats what Im talking about. Paying more attention to the really enjoyable things in our lives rather than ranting and raving about the bad... Being too busy to enjoy things is just plain sad.
Bad things happen to everyone, its what we do about them that make us stronger (I think anyways) :)

I know :(
That went against everything I was going for on this!! :/

I think what null was saying was this:
...when something good happens to you you're usually to busy enjoying it.
So true.
I vote for this: Let's see if we can all spend more time reading and rating posts that are funny, and positive and delightful to read. I too, am frustrated. When I see rants of mine getting ratings of 94%-98% with 9 to 7 people listed as having taken the time to rate it...I tend to wonder, myself. I don't think some of those posts should have been touched with a ten foot pole. But, it's not about ratings for me.
It's about what SEEMS to be getting paid attention to... You see if we all read negative posts and show our support in a wierd kinda fucked up way... that's less time to read and show support for really positive stuff. But, human nature seems to gravitate toward drama. Again, SEEMS is the important word.
I think referring back to what null said...just as when things happen to us that are good, we are so busy enjoying them we forget to say anything here...also, when we read positive stuff here, we seem to just quietly enjoy it, while saying nothing. Which, in a way, is kinda good, since at least no one is responding to positive posts by shooting the wind out of anyone's sails, but conversely, it would be nice if there were assloads of responses to really good, and/or funny posts.
How 'bout we try and do that?
Let's move this discussion to What Rules!
null, sorry to borrow your device.
And Jaz, is right...it seems.
If mountain goats like living at high elevations, why do none live in high rise apartment buildings?
Ah, orchid, sounds like typical english weather to me, i have the same problem working in a mill all day long under a roof.
When something good happens to you you're usually too busy enjoying it
that is it, because when your having fun and high spirited enjoying yourselve, youve no reason to think back about it without the memorys being only good ones either, unlike recently when i stupidly left my mobile phone on a train it pissed me off for days, actually, to this day, but i wont have a phobile moan, because if you search around a negative long and hard enough, youll find a positive in there somewhere.
I did lose two years worth of contacts including important numbers and distant fiends i might very rarely need and will never meet again, but i know for a fact ill never leave anything on a train in the future, also i learned to buy myself (take my advise) that thing they used to use in the old days, a pen and phone book to write all my numbers down...
A bit like if you have a sore head, and the ball hits you on it twice, you may think what was the chances of that, soon as i get a sore head i get hit with the ball a couple of times, not realising the only reason why you even noticed or began to remember the fact was that your head hurt already, whearas you wouldnt of appreciated not having the sore head if it didnt exist. Actually, im not sure if that makes any sense but you get the picture.
But people talk about there lives and if your days been good or bad, but i know what you mean though, its much better if you can let things go and not be concerned with what sucks. Also you need to feel what sucks to appreciate what rules, afterall, your serotonim does deplete.

I do not like to boast about my good things because
1. There is not much to talk about (it there anything at all?)
2. I do not feel comfortable with that - some people might feel bad/jealous because i am happy about something. It's better to say that something is bothering you, so that others might think 'that didn't happen to me. Guess i'm lucky' and make them feel better.

I understand that the above is a personal choice.
I for one am not here to try and make people feel better or worse about themselves, I'm not a shrink. If something good happens to me, I am going to share it with others rather than hide it just because it might make some people feel jealous or sad after they read it.
I would much rather talk about something good that happens in my life rather than something bad. I don't care if people get jealous or feel bad after they read a positive post, it is definitely not of my concern how people may choose to react to good things that happen in other people's lives. After all, I am sure that I am not the only one on earth that experiences good, positive things from time to time.
Of all the things that I have lost in my life, it's my mind that I miss the most.
Yeah it's a personal choice.
If something good happens to me, I am going to share it with others rather than hide it just because it might make some people feel jealous or sad after they read it.
well, that's great. i wish i could do that. but i do not have to much good stuff going on. and when it happens and i think about it - well, i think people would not understand my happiness.
oh well, time to shut up...:D

I guess that is the great thing about NAO. I think of it as a gateway to meeting new people that may suprise you when you think that you're the only one that may think a certain way. You might be pleasantly surprised.
You will never know how people may react to something good that happens in your life until you actually share it. And from the experiences I have had here, most NAO'ians are nothing but supportive.
Of all the things that I have lost in my life, it's my mind that I miss the most.
What really sucks, in the moment, is working. Because: It's damn too hot. I've got the swimming pool in my mind the whole day long. I can't go there because in the one and only heat we have in this week, I work from 1 till 10 pm. I am glued to my desk. It must be the sweat. I'm waiting. half an hour and I hope I can finally leave... But it doesn't help: I can't go to the pool. Not before saturday. And considering my luck, it will rain on saturday, I'm sure.
