So I was driving back home tonight, and I saw the guy ahead of me thrown an entire Taco John's bag (full of other Taco John's trash) out the driver's window of his Blazer. I was listening to Bob Marley and feeling particularly protestant. So I said "You bastard!" and flipped him off - thinking the driver would neither hear nor see me.
Immediately he hit the brakes, and I saw a very dark and angry man glaring at me through his side view mirror.
Although his littering did warrant a flip off and some obsinety, I didn't think this was the appropriate time to prove my point.
So I took three immediate lefts, two rights, and then took a very indirect route home.
SUVs don't turn sharply, but compact cars do. Thank God.

I may be a Californian, but I don't consider myself a granola-eating, tie-dye wearing, chapule-smelling, tree-hugging Californian in the vaguest sense of the term.............
But this one time (not at band camp) I was driving home, following a small red sedan at around 60mph, when someone in the car ahead tossed out an empty 2 liter bottle of soda. I was so incensed at their lack of concern for my neighborhood and the other cars on the road that I followed them home to give them a peice of my mind.
The car was filled with teenagers who , surprisingly, owned up to the blame by unanimously pointing to the mousiest looking 15 year-old boy in their group.
In retrospect, what I did could have opened me up to a million law suits that we Californians are so fond of ------- I told him to get into my car, drove him to the tossed bottle
(giving him a long, drawn out version of why he was going to rot slowly in his own filth and how he was going to make all of his babies have two heads when he gets older)
made him get out of the car, pick up the bottle, get back in the car and then I drove him back to his friends.
I don't know if I convinced him of the error of his ways, or if I gave him a phobia of blue-haired nature nazis. Needless to say, I felt better.
I am just me, searching for simplicity.........and a good hair stylist
