A little foreword on my background. I had been a C++ programmer throughout my life. Written Java code for just 5 months (during that time, was also writing C++ code side-by-side). Now, in my current company I am literally *forced* to use the .NET environment and completely switch to M$ platform.
I am finding it very hard to convince myself that .NET is better then J2EE and that is the way to go. I have discussed this 'n' number of times with my colleagues, and no one seems to give me a very good reason why should we be using .NET.
Just wanted to get some oipinions from people on this forum who have used both and can help me in deciding which one is better and why? It seems to me that there is more to .NET then simple M$ marketing strategy, but somehow I just can not let go my temptation to work in J2EE.
p.s. I am not looking at language wars here, whether Java is better then C# or vice-versa. I need to know about the features provided by the 2 - J2EE and .NET, and the directions they are going into, and their pros and cons.
