Reading Food

My parents and I love to go pick mushrooms in our mountains, which are quite productive and also pretty close to where we live. This morning however, I decided I didn't want to wake up at 6 am with them, and I let them go alone, and all of these mushrooms are their booty.

They actually got a few more, but we gave them to my aunt for her to cook tonight. I regretted not having gone this morning, but I know that tomorrow I will have my chance to find some too, hoping it won't rain.

So the menu tonight will be the following:

- pasta with a mushrooms sauce; we'll have some of these delicious things with a little bit of olive oil in a pot and some onion as well. They will make a good sauce to accompany some spaghetti pasta.

- fried mushrooms; it's a quite easy and yummy effective thing to do. We'll flour the mushrooms, then put them in some beaten eggs and finally into some bread crumbs. At this point they will be ready to be fried in a pan with fresh olive oil.

Guys here I am being driven nuts with these links. When I use Opera, the normal browser I use, these links - even the second ones - look broken. But now, using the old IE they are displayed just fine.

Can you all see the pictures? I used yahoo photos, created an album and made it public (this for the second batch, because it didn't occur me before that if I hadn't made it public, then the others wouldn't have been able to see the pictures). At that point, I reposted the links praying that they would work.

For a while they worked also with Opera; I could even see the pictures even when I was not logged into Nao. But now, I was checking once again, and they stopped working. However, logging in Netalive using Explorer, everything is working fine and the pictures are displayed normally.

Can anybody help me here? I don't understand what the heck it's going on!!!

Oh, I so want to see these as I absolutely love mushrooms! My mom used to saute the little button ones, but I love baby portobellos, or shiitakes, or a few chantarelles that way...if they can be had. How wonderful to be able to go 'shopping' for them in the woods. That's the real way...though, I must confess, I have never done it. I am quite jealous. Green with envy. No less.

I have an acquaintance who goes looking for Morels, and sells them...but that person is not exactly someone I would like to hang out with, so it is ix nay on that.

While in Jamaica, it was suggested to me that I go mushroom hunting with them...but that was an entirely different kind of mushroom, mind you. And we didn't end up going.

But the idea of getting (or staying up til 6am for me...) up at 6 to go traipse through the woods and eyeball for mushrooms sounds lovely indeed. I hope, as well, for your sake, that it does not rain tomorrow. Enjoy!

Yes, I can say that much. They were pretty tasty. However, we didn't eat them all of course, so now we have the freezer completely filled up with mushrooms!! Yummy :)
