eljefe *** (7) has all the information you need...
So I'm a super geek, whats a matter with that? Naturally I got my grubby fingers on the Beta 2. Many parts make me happy, many parts make me confused even though I know the reason behind it. First of the parts that confuse me:
* Windows Vista Starter Edition
* Windows Vista Home Basic Edition
* Windows Vista Home Basic Edition N
* Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
* Windows Vista Professional Edition
* Windows Vista Professional Edition N
* Windows Vista Small Business Edition
* Windows Vista Enterprise Edition
* Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
Are they trying to confuse their way out of average user sales? With OSX on intel hardware (i.e. cheaper hardware if Apple is smart) looming closer on the horizon, what is MS thinking? Sadly I know exactly what they are thinking: "Oh god, oh god lets avoid another anti-trust suite." Microsoft Anti-Trust lawsuits are all the rage in the EU right now. Now I did support the lawsuit to provide the starter edition for el cheapo, but the lawsuit involving bundled media players and this new one about anti-virus I don't support. Not only are they frivolous (I mean, c'mon, if you don't like WMP just install another media package. MS has every right to tout their software on their system so long as they don't inhibit your use of 3rd party instead. I mean, Volvo can send you cataloges of their accessories and parts but that doesn't mean you can't buy from IPD), but they are detrimental in the fact that Microsoft now has to hike prices of something to pay the legal bill. *shrug* either way...
Now the prettyness. Here's a screenshot I took and uploaded to my website. They changed some stuff up like the taskbar being semi transparent, which I find a nice touch. For those of you who havn't been keeping up with the developments, this new leak introduces the new media center edition (without a proper TV tuner card or a remote I can't test this feature out to well), new WMP 11 (Ayjell, I know you'll like this since you are all about the WMP now), and some other stuff I havn't checked out yet.
From a speed standpoint things have started to lag on my machine (to be expected, P4 1.5ghz with 1gb (4x128) ram, gforce fx 5700 le optima essentially very old) since alot of features are now starting to find their way into the operating system (like the folder icons wich show sheets inside with icons on them representing the files inside, small stuff like that).
So if anyone's interested, I would suggest they check this version out, however I give a fair warning. The -PROPER version on the piratebay torrent site is missing a .idx file in the DVD so the driver installation proggie needed for network cards and such (thrown in with Beta 1 since Vista drivers are done yet and support was needed for anythign other than test box drivers) is borked. *Shrug* If you can't manually install your drivers, I don't think you'd be able to install vista anyways. ;)

I'm actually going to give OSX x86 another shot, see if a pre-cracked dvd 'll work for me this time, at least in vmware....
God willing I'm gonna get an iBook G4 in about a month or so. I can't wait actually!!! Hopefully that will all work out.
Mac OS X x86 sounds interesting, any ideas on when it will be officially for sale?

Haha, that is quite possibly the funniest thing anyone has ever said about me, I am by no means that, I wish I were... Haha. I am flattered though. All the code I have written has been one step above "Hello,World". I do 99% reading about coding and 1% actually writing any and when I do write some it is so rudimentary that it's almost laughable.
I know yer trying to not be such a geek, not sure when that came about
Well it's been an evolving thing, trying to work some of the geek shit out of my system because it's consuming me. Kinda like backing off all the bullshit that means nothing ultimately in a persons life.
