Ah, methinks my nemesis is back on the NAO, and peeved that I made any mention of him at all. Of course we won't use any names, as it has become impossible to count how many he has...[/sarcasm button]
Or maybe it wasn't 'that person' at all. ?????
I personally don't have a problem with people expressing their opinions, but if you think my post ( and by that I am only referring to specifically #39333) was 'mediocre' because it rambled then you should be a man/woman, and say so. Not anonymously rate it down, without responding. I doubt that Salvial Ten was responsible for that. I think it was pretty clear from her response how much she understood that I was struggling. I doubt that it was Hawkeye either.
Trust me. The next time I feel like being open and spilling my guts about the soul-searching I've been doing, and how gut-wrenching it is, thinking maybe someone else could gain something from it....I doubt I'll think of posting it here. It certainly isn't constructive, nor communicative to simply rate and run. Personally, I only rate if I either think the post was extraordinarily excellent, or if I think it was an abomination and a detriment to the NAO. But beyond that, I tend to agree with magic and think that the rating system sucks. It's like an opportunity for petty little minds to take out their frustrations on you, without having the decency to own up to who they are...Fuck the ratings and respond instead. You can take that as a personal challenge, whoever you are.
Actually critiqueing someone's writing and giving them a dose of medicine, goes down a whole lot better when you own up to who you are, rather than falling back on the anonymity of the rating system to explain what you don't have the guts to say in a post.
It takes guts to pour one's heart out on the page. Thanks for letting me know how much that means. Let me clarify. It isn't the criticism that irks me...it is the anonymity of it, and the rating system allows that anonymity.
Back to salon.com I go. I don't have a problem saying "no" to the NAO.
And just for clarification purposes: Blood oranges are the same thing as Moro oranges. Do a google search. Don't waste my time.
P.S. I think the original 'wording' of this post topic is just choice. It serves my needs quite well.
If mountain goats like living at high elevations, why do none live in high rise apartment buildings?
