That Tranquil Melody

?% | 1

It's time for another installment of the Emily Dickinson wannabe!

my ear and his friend --
a truly inseparable pair,
if not without the other,
music he'd never share,

the melody of tomorrow,
the sounds of what shall be,
interpreted in a sweet --
tranquil melody...

The vocabulary cannot be likened to her but hopefully the style is reminiscent of her... =)

I think she would be proud. :)
You can't have one without the other.

Something so ordinary as an ear...and you have elevated it to poetic status.
Well done!

It only looks that way because your standing on your head.

Thank you! I truly appreciate that.

Emily wrote a few poems in this 2 stanza 4 lines per, style. She also does a few other poems in the same style but more verses. It's quite possibly my favorite style because it's short, gets to the point and always has a rich amount of detail. The reader is left to wonder about alot of things and it's quite pleasurable.

For instance:

I ASKED no other thing,
No other was denied.
I offered Being for it;
The mighty merchant smiled.

Brazil? He twirled a button, 5
Without a glance my way:
“But, madam, is there nothing else
That we can show to-day?”

That is the style that I love! The meter is to die for and something that Emily is well recognized for. Damn she is awesome.

I am flattered =) The good thing is that you can spend time on the internet reading Dickinson. The best of both worlds are only a google away! Have fun and come back and give us some of your thoughts on the other women I love... Don't tell my wife, shit she already knows. I'm d00med! Haha.
