se, I just sort of accept a little of the nonsense. I mean, you kinda have no choice. Besides, they didn't really focus on it

I finally figured out the wolf. I read some stuff online that sort of made sense:

basically, the wolf is cloud's desire to be alone, and wanting to die alone. I'm sure all have heard the expression "Lone Wolf", and that is exactly what it means. The wolf fades off when cloud accepts the fact that he is a help to others, inspite of things that were outside of his control. People make mistakes, and sometimes no matter how hard you try you can't prevent some things, and the things cloud laments so terribly are usually in the latter category...

Aeris death could not be helped, she left of her own accord knowing she'd be a sort of messiah for the planet. She accepted her fate and left when nobody else knew so that she could allow it to be fulfilled.

Zach, a former member of soldier, whom cloud for whatever reason believes he is most of the game (final fantasy 7, for playstation), was also outside of his control. Cloud couldn't even so much as lift a finger or grunt his voice, and zach gave his life to save cloud's.

The place where the large sword is placed is where the sniper killed zach from, a sort of hat tip for everybody that paid as much attention to the game and materials surrounding it as I did.

So yeah, that's the wolf.
