Star Wars

I know there are alot of people out there who would rather live their lives never getting to expierience the humble joy of light sabers and blasters. But for the people who have always dreamt of growing up to become a jedi and save the galaxy from the empire, i was just curious why you like the movies, if you like the new or old ones more, or just whatever lese you would like to say about them.
I personally think that George Lucas is a genious and has stumbled across possibly the greatest idea to ever occur in cinema history. though episodes 4,5, and 6 are three of the best movies ever made i think that 1,2, and 3 were not all that great and were only useful for finding out how the other three movies came together. Perhaps if 1,2, and 3 would have been made earlier in life before all the computer technolgy they may have been alot better. But unfortunately like any other movie made anymore they over used the computer effects and ruin the movie.

One of the greatest science fiction movies for special effects was 2001, which was made, astoundingly, in the 1960's.

It's inevitable in any genre that for every great movie there's a hundred not so great ones. Sequels (or prequels) are particularly vulnerable. :/

You're here, aren't you? You're talking to me, aren't you?

Another example of sequels suffering from the advent of technology and overuse of a brilliant idea would be the Alien series. Alien and Aliens were great. After that, it became an exercise in early computer graphics and poor writing.
