Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows the deal when sending mail outs to numerous recipitents, as ive heard certain features i.e. a picture thats a link, colour, text links e.t.c. may be looking nice when you send but possibly yahoo mail fails to display something hotmail and outlook can display and visa versa.
I dont mind a basic text mail but would like to jazz it up a bit.
Also, SPAM??? the recipitents all signed up to recieve however i have been informed of some people having it turn up as spam?
If anyone here knows about this kind of thing id love any advice.
Thanks :-)

Don't use anything other than basic text. If you have to use pretty e-mails, then use basic HTML that is light on images. While individual e-mails may not be a problem, it will add up when you factor in a large quantity of e-mails.
In fact, Yahoo and Hotmail have been supressing images - it's either popular demand, bandwidth saving, or for some other reason.

That's caused by filters that lock on to specific patterns. One such pattern is HTML mail - which more often than not, is used by spammers.
There's nothing that can be done with such filters.

Not much you can do other than making sure you provide your unsubscribe link and perhaps some words near the unsub link that say something along the lines of "You signed up for this newsletter with this email. If you wish to discontinue recieving emails..." etc. etc.
However won't help unless you want to pay AOL's extortion tax, but thats only for AOL emails.
Inform your readers when they sign up to add newsletteremail@domain.tld to their white-list or to check for their first email and to click "not spam" or what not to remove it from the spam filter.
