Wake up call

40% | 4

What the hell is the matter with people, what are we asleep?
Our enemies are not
a mad man(hitler) writes a book claiming he is going to kill all the jews and is planing word domination,
no one takes him seriouslly, and then he comes to power and almost manages to carry out his plan.
Now we have another mad man in iran making the same threats aimed at the same people, he is gaining rapidlly more power and could soon pose a bigger threat than the nazi's if he gets his hands on nuclear wheapons, and no one is doing anything to stop him. There is a lot of talk but no action, what are we gonna wait for the mushroom cloud before some one stops this monster.
The new axis of evil iran, hamas , islamic jehad, alquaeda, this islamic terrorism needs to be confronted, preferablly before we have half the world blown to smitherines and the other half being forced to convert to islam or to live as dihimies with the jizya tax man knocking at our doors.
The only thing worse that another war is a nuclear armed iran.
We need to wake up.

There's this other mad man actually ruling the united states of america looking and behaving very similar to the other guy you mentioned before. When that other guy was given the power to rule over a country, other more powerful people thought he would be easy to steer, just a puppet in their hands, because he talked a lot of shit and seemed to be not too bright as well. But they were proven wrong.

That's just like this mad man from the US - starting a war against other countries based on very questionable reasons, which were proven completely wrong after that war ended, anyway.

Germany was ruled for 12 years by a total mad man, who totally ab- and overused the power given to him. Let's see how long this american guy is going to do that, too. And to what obscenities and lengthies he will go to achieve his bizzare goals.

Naturally, I love Jesus very much. I love him so much that I'd like to crucify him all over again.

Your right bush is a compleate idiot
he sends young men to die in a war that didnt need fighting
he's a liar and a hypocrit, but your missing the point.
We live in democracys, we can vote to have our governments changed, iranians cannot do that.
There are some restraints on the bush mad man,
what restrictions are on dictators?
This iranian creep apparantlly believes that by throwing the world into chaos he will usher in a messianic age where islam will dominate the world, and he finances islamic terrorists groups who would be happy to help him achive that.( Not to mention our own stupidity when it comes to political correctness)the mad man in america, and phony blair of england are only as powerfull and dangerous as the nexed election allows them to be, a mad dictater with no threat of being replaced who believes in this appocalyptic vission, has the means and motive to carrie it out is a massive danger that neeeds to be stoped preferablly before the mushroom cloud.

a mad man(hitler)

You misspelled 'Bush'. Maybe watching Fox News is bad for your IQ after all.

On a side note (and thank you Dermot for giving me this great idea)...

Public offer:

The first pro-war Bushie to write me will win a FREE flight ticket to Baghdad, plus hotel, to document the tremendous success of the US occupation in liberating and stabilising the country. The only condition is that you spend your holiday outside of the Green Zone and document how you publicly express your support of the war (US citizens may optionally wave their passport around). According to the Bush people you should be greeted with flowers after that, so it's basically a free trip to the sun and friendly people.
Any takers?

Personally, my biggest global worry is the situation in North Korea and it leading to a nuclear arms race in the region, which will lead to my own country (Autralia) joining in with the fun and games.

Re: Wake up call

Your right, north korea is a big threat, but noth korea already have nuclear wheapons, so that is a more difficult and dangerous situation.
But one mad dictator armed with nuclear wheapons is one to many
we dont need another one in iran. Here we have a small window of oppotunity to stop another dictator from aquiring nuclear wheapons, and the world powers are inactive, they talk alot but that will not save us from the mushroom cloud.

Re: Wake up call

The funny thing is, there's no evidence that suggests Iran is going to use their radioactive stuff for anything besides electricity.
And even if the Irani government would ever want to build the bomb, it would mainly be thanks to ongoing military threats by the USA. Did you know that Iran had a pretty moderate government before Bush started to bully them?

Re: Wake up call

Iran has a vast amount of oil, they dont need to use nuclear material for energy. And there is reasonable inteligens to believe that iran is trying to aquire nuclear wheapons( i would be interested to here your definition of moderate) regardless of wheather you agree with the us government, listen to what the iranian mad man is saying listen to his threats, how do you think he plans to wipe israel of the map?
And even if the usa has some responsibility for alot of the problems in the middle east, does that mean that we should just sit by wile a deranged mad man aquires nuclear wheapons?
And its not just israel that is in danger, the iranian mad man calls israel the little satan and america the big satan, he looks at people who are not muslim as infadells, and actualy wouldnt mind killing alot of us or forcing convrtion, he sees nothing wrong in throwing the world into nuclear caos becouse he believes that it will usher in a messianic age of muslim world domination.
At what point will we wake up, before or after the mushroom cloud?

Is that the same intelligence that has reported Iraq to own 'nucular' weapons and other WMDs?

the iranian mad man calls israel the little satan and america the big satan

Not to be outdone, the American mad man has declared Iran part of his "Axis of evil" and thinks God is speaking to him. That guy already has nuclear weapons, and he's openly stated that he's not afraid to use them.
Did you know that in addition to skyrocketing cancer rates in Iraq, European countries have noticed a doubling in radioactive particles when US troops started using depleted uranium shells in Iraq?
Also, when until now it was next to impossible for terrorists to collect enough uranium for a bomb, all they need to do now is walk around a battlefield with a Geiger counter and pick it up. Great move, George - that has made the world a safer place.

As for numbers, correct me if I'm wrong here -
Democratically elected governments overthrown by Iran: 0
Unilateral unprovoked wars started by Iran: 0
Foreign countries currently occupied by Iranian troops against the will of the people living there: 0
Innocent civilians killed by Iranian troops during such occupations: probably not many

Iran may not be perfect, but considering the USA's record of warmongering, killing and bullying, the fact that Bush says Iran is a risk is just ridiculous.

If you want to invade a country just because "they might have nukes", "their president is an ass", "they're a threat to world peace", "they violate human rights" or "they torture innocents", the USA so top the bill of countries to 'liberate' to smithereens.

If you've got a little time to kill, may I also suggest you this article, Is Your Entire Country on Crack?. I didn't bother to check all the facts, but in any case it's an entertaining read.

Some Hitler facts which by any measure should be obvious, but sadly aren't for too many people:

  • Hitler did not get up one morning to announce on the radio "hey all you Germans, let's be evil and burn some innocent jews" and everybody cheered at the thought and joined him. ("Whaaat, it wasn't like that?" - surprised screams from the pro-Bush corner of the room)

  • Most fascists were like the pro-Bushies now - deliberately misinformed by government-friendly media, politically uneducated and (thanks to propaganda) convinced that the Jews, communists etc. etc. were to blame for everything and "fighting back" against them was the right thing to do. Those that did not fall for Hitler's lies were quickly silenced and blamed as "unpatriotic".

  • Hitler didn't just hold a speech and say "hey people, we're gonna invade Poland now." Nazi soldiers staged an incursion of Polish troops into Germany, to which Hitler "reacted" with a "retaliatory strike".

  • And as far as it concerns freedom and democracy - Hitler was rightfully elected.

Repeatedly screaming "Hitler" is not an excuse for warmongering or political games (by the way, "9/11" or "terrorism" are just as bad). Killing tens of thousands of Iraqis or Iranians under the premise that "their government might hate us" is not helping world peace, and neither is bombing innocent Palestinians because "we're Jews and as such are always the victims, no matter the circumstances". Imagine what could be if the USA stopped bullying and invading other nations and Israel renounced the illegally occupied Palestinian land? Could it be, oh, I don't know... that after a few years, fewer people would hate those countries? That people whose entire family wasn't killed by foreign troops wouldn't be so enthusiastic about becoming suicide bombers? Or what if just a fraction of the money that goes into "preemptive strikes" was spent to aid the people of those countries? Isn't it wiser to make friends than to make enemies and then do your best to intimidate them?

Might be... but it sure is more patriotic to demonstrate strength and bomb the shit out of everybody before they make their minds up. Right?

Consider yourself hugged.

On a sidenote: The real power in Iran is this guy, who actually released some rule against using nuclear power in any other way than for electricity purposes!

Found in one of the articles mentioned in null's first post to this thread.
