Once again, congratulations!
Sorry I couldn't be there for the wedding.
I'm sure you two will be talking like a married couple in no time at all. The way Elena and I argue sometimes, I feel like we're already married. :P
Best luck to you both!

Thank you all for your congratulations and toasts. :-)
I'm happy to say that the wedding was very nice, the party was even better than I hoped for, and the bride was described as 'beautiful' by almost everybody (and of course they were right!).
Right now we're killing some time at the airport's internet corner while we wait for our plane to Paris. I'll try to put some pictures on the 'net if we find an open WLAN access point in France.
How's everybody else? :-)

... I can say I was there!! It was a wonderful ceremony, and I absolutely loved it. Now let me give some descriptions:
1) the Groom: awesome! Wonderful suit, looked very nice in it, and the white tie just matched the bride's colors perfectly.
2) the Bride: gorgeous! I had never thought I could have thought such things of a woman, but Tamara was absolutely adorable!! I loved her dress as well as the way her hair was tied up. You absolutely have to post some pictures, Bernie.
I have to admit that when we were all at the place where they got married, and I saw them sitting close to each other and everything... well I had to fight back the tears: it was all so exciting and I was really moved!
The funniest part is that I wasn't understanding a f***ing thing of what was said :P I really thought I was so totally ignorant and incompetent about German, but I felt a little better when Henning told me that he normally understands 50% of what they say when they speak in their weird dialect :P
Anyway, enough about me. It's all about them now. Really, wonderful marriage guys! You were both cute... no, awesome, and I loved being there with you.
I love you with all my heart and I wish you all the best.

If I put that person as I remember her from my one and only visit about three years ago, she should have looked wonderful in such a dress. ;)

So he's quite good with this... Schweizer Deutsch somewhat sound like a horrible gone wrong mixture of Austrian and deep Swabian to me. :D

ps: let's just say that I personally dislike the standard 'all in white'-marriage ceremonies. we'd do the marriage stuff probably totally different, I for instance imagine having a big festival with all the friends we've got, letting oh-so-evil metal bands play for honeymoon :D
pps: good luck to you, Berni + Tamara ;)

Congratulations Null! Marriage isn't that bad, I'm now in my 10th year of it and it just gets sweeter everyday. The best part is having some kids. My daughter will turn 4 in September and also in September I have a little boy that is due to come into this world. Precisely the time that I will get home from Afghanistan. What more could a person ask for? Hehe.. Have fun!
I've found out that the key to keeping a marriage working is the ability for the male member to compromise without getting too pissed off. Haha!
Enjoy!

I actually had to pass a test at the registry office. The question was along the lines of "what four words does a man need to say often in a happy marriage?"
The correct answer was of course "you're right, darling."

Belated Congratulations to both of you, null and Orchid! Squee! I'm so excited for you guys, and wish you all of the best in your life together. I look forward to seeing pictures. What wonderful news...
Life as it has been may be over, but life as it will be is now better, right? :)
P.S. I heard a rumor via e-mail from my maternal person that a box from Switzerland arrived at her house awhile ago. Might you have had anything to do with this? Also, I need a new address for you guys. I want to send a wedding gift! I'd thought a Hello Kitty toaster would be awesome, until I realized that U.S.--> European power outlets could be a problem. ;) Anyway, let me know where you're currently located. And congrats again!

Guilty as charged. Sorry but your parents' address is the only one I've got. I hope you'll be able to pick it up soon - if it takes you longer, don't eat the chocolate with a green fur.

Well, we're still talking to each other, so it can't be all bad. :-) In fact it doesn't feel much different than not being married, only that calling her 'my wife' somehow makes me feel old. (Am I not still a child at heart?) Curious people can find one wedding picture of us here. (I'm the guy in the dark grey suit)
BTW, hello, great to read you're still alive & well! :-)
